Question about Whirlpool Duet GHW9150P Front Load Washer

1 Answer

FH code had been intermittant, now occurs with every load. Have been through the steps suggested by jtfix for that code. Went through the service tech sheet that comes with the machine and ran the diagnostic test in it. Get the FH code at C:01 and C:03 indicating either the flowmeter or inlet valves for cold and hot? What is the best course of action from here? What is the common problem in this type of issue? I don't want to just replace parts without reason, I'm trying to do this the smart way... I went to my local appliance sales/parts/service center and ask for guidance before placing an order for parts with them, only to get talked down to and pretty much told that they would not help me in any way - they want to make service calls rather than customer service. I don't want to sound cheap, but I have not been impressed with service repair companies in the past.

Marine, In usually all cases I find this to be the flow meter causing the error. You can check the inlet valve at the main board. Remove the top, It will be the 4th harness from the right looking at it from the front. On the harness from left to right the first two wires will be the hot water solenoid, should read 800 ohms. The second two wires will be the cold, should read the same. If the inlet valve checks good, I believe that the flow meter is causing the problem. Catriver.

The error code FH means no water is detected entering the machine which can be due to a faulty flow meter not registering the correct amount of water that has passed through it or the pressure is not tripping from the empty position to the full position when the correct water level has been reached. Your machine is definitely made by Whirlpool like other Kenmore and Maytag washing machine so they are basically the same and troubleshooting is then the same. The link below contains the detailed troubleshooting of this error code for a Whirlpool Duet and should be applicable to your machine.

Washing maching flashes F H on time display

The FH code indicates a fill failure. The problem can be with the fill valves, flow meter or the pressure switch. This error occurs if the control doesn't see the flow meter turning. This usually a fault of the flow meter but be sure both the hot and cold water valves are working. Try a hot water wash cycle and confirm that hot water is coming into the washer. Check both valves and if they are working the problem is most likely the flow meter.

Also the FH error means it's either you have a drain problem if there is water in it or if if there is now water in it, make sure that both water inlets are turned all the way up. check to make sure that you don't have any water leaks anywhere visible.

During a normal wash cycle, the error code FH occurs. The owners manual says inlet problem. All water pressure is good and inlet screens are clear. Drain function appears to work well. Repair guy came...

If the flow meter does not register 10 and 1/2 gallons of water in 8 minutes the FH code appears.
Could be a bad flow meter, sensor, wiring harness is loose or a bad CCU Central Control Unit.
At the RINSE cycle if water enters the machine you must time the water fill for 8 minutes or less.
If water does not enter the machine suspect the CCU as bad.

F11 error code

The F11 code means there is an electrical with the Maytag Epic washer. This could involve wiring, fuses or a number of other issues.

Press the "Pause" button twice to stop the current cycle. Press the "Drain" button to remove any excess water. Try to run the washer again. If the F11 code repeats, shut the washer off and contact a service agent
The FH error code may be mistaken for the F11 code. The FH code signals a water supply issue and has nothing to do with electrical problems. Check the LCD screen to ensure you read the proper code

Getting an FH error code during the cycle count down

The FH code indicates it is not detecting water fill at the flow meter. Since you say that the washer is filling okay, I would check the wiring between the flowmeter and the control board. A common cause of this problem on this machine is the wiring harness jiggling loose. Unplug and reseat the wiring harness and see if it clears up the problem. Also look for and clean out any corrosion build-up where the harness plugs in. Hope this helped and best wishes.

Kenmore Elite quietpak9 HE4T washer FH error code

take the lid off attached to the inlet valve to the dispenserr you will see a little white mechanisim in line with them. this is called your flowmeter take it off and blow through it is should sound like a cazoo. put it back on and try to do a wash cycle. if this doesn't help you need a new flowmeter. also if you take the kick panel off you will find the tech sheet to help you diagnose this problem.
