No sound from my Denon AVR-1707

I have composite video cables running to a front projector. I have digital coaxial audio running to my Dennon receiver. My DVD player is a SD4990su. I have no sound. I did the automatic sound set up with minimal problems, but I can't figure out what I am missing to get sound rom the DVD player. Help!! Thanks

Re: No sound from my Denon AVR-1707

I think that's something in SOUND SETUP menu incorrect. Try to redo it again.

Denon 1312 receiver composite video inputs do not work.

I'm having the same problem with my Wii output. The manual for the Denon AVR-1312 says that analog video signals (i.e. component/composite outputs from the Wii) are not converted to digital video signals (i.e. HDMI output from the rcvr). I'm running only HDMI to a projector, so the video signal is essentially lost. The fix appears to be to run an additional composite cable all the way to the projector. Sounds like your fix is the same. No Wii tonight! :(

How do I set my receiver to read TV/CBL Dolby Digital. It is a AVR 789

The Dolby digital signal is outputted only through the Optical or Coaxial socket of the CBL box. you will have to get an optic fiber or coaxial cable depending which cable box you have and connect it to the digital input of the Denon receiver. The Denon's digital input are already assigned at the back. Eg: Optic input might be labeled CD so if you are connecting the CBL box to the optic input remember to select CD on the Denon to hear the cable sound, same goes with the coaxial input.

I have a Denon AVR-1707 with a center, 2 front speakers, and surround sound back speakers. When set to FM radio, all speakers work. When set to TV, only one side speaker works. Any ideas? It worked fine...

Follow the sound back to its source. FM is internal so it can't possibly have a cabling issue.

I imagine your TV sound ultimately originates from a cable box which has a nice juicy digital output that the Denon could use. Why route audio through a TV, like the manuals tell you, when you can get it straight to the best audio device without a detour to a TV and its dubious audio electronics?

I have an avr 3200 can it use 2 coaxial inputs and how good is the sound quality compared to newer avrs

Denon being one of the best names in the biz and this being an upper-crust modfel, I'd say anyone without a 'golden-ear' would be hard pressed to t\distinguish its sound from any other amplifier in existence.

The Denon site doesn't list and AVR-3200, but the AVR-3300 has 1 coaxial digital audio and 3 optical digital audio inputs.

If you're looking to run multiple coaxial devices and there aren't enough inputs this is what I do...

Helpful hint: Coaxial digital audio cables can be joined using an RCA cable splitter so they can share a given input or distribute a given output to multiple places. You just have to remember to have only the DESIRED units turned on when sharing or there will be digital confusion on the buss and it will result in silence or horrendous noise.

How do I hook up my HDTV to play through my Denon avr4310CI and what adjustments do I make on yhe on screen menue

This unit is a monster.

The manual has its recommendations and it would be well worth a detailed read:

You'll need to name or assign each audio and video source so they will switch the audio and video together when you select something. HDMI/component/s-video/composite is the descending order of quality for video, while HDM will carry digital audio on the same cable, next best would be coaxial digital audio and then the dreadful analog RCA pair (stereo only).

My $.02...

Since a TV is basically an expensive dynamic nightlight (an OUTPUT device) and not the best source for hi-end audio I always run audio digitally from every video source (cable/sat box, dvd, bd) right to my receiver; and video from each source directly to the HDTV. That way nothing is introduced or lost in the process. I accept the loss of simplicity in switching as the price to pay for the best audio and visual results. But then, I don't have HDMI in my 8-year old AVR and it's not a Denon.

Hi, i have the Denon AVR-2802 reciver. My issue is when i plug my xbox into the dvd compontent inputs, i cant get any audio or video. I was working a few days ago, i had to disconnect the amp, when i...

Component inputs are for video only, and when connected through a receiver then the television also must have a video input coming to it from the video out from the receiver. If you want audio that will be a separate connection from the xbox to the receiver either by digital coaxial cable or optical cable, or composite.

Make sure your receiver is set to either "auto-select" or "digital" rather than "analog" (button on front display).
