Question about Mitsubishi VS-50605 50" Rear Projection Television

Mitsubishi vs-50703 I have been told that my tv has a bad power supply and I will have to replace or rebuild the board. What should be the cost of replacing the power supply board new vs. a rebuild kit if I hire out? What is exactly in the rebuild kit and where could I order one if I decide to do myself?

NO POWER===Check all fuse devices on PS PCB. Shorted convergence IC's will cause that== change IC's.See what you have-let me know what you find.

Timer light constantly flashing and tv does not turn on

You have V-26 chassis type of the TV. Mitsubishi had recall on these models but it's already expired. Repair out of the pocket will cost you not less than $700, chassis have to be sent to Mitsubishi for complete rebuild procedure (involves 5 PCB boards and many, many components to be replaced). In your case reboot sequence does not comes to completion because of bad capacitors in DMD and/or power supply boards.
I would suggest cut your losses and invest in new TV.

Cost to replace signal board

The signal board is not likely to be the cause of this. I'll research this a bit and update this with some sugestions. Can you solder?

Mitsubishi vs-50703 65 in. Rear Projection... Problem: tv wont turn on

that model is famous for the CRTs leaking coolant onto the main board near the vertical output Ic and causing the set not to power up. Check the fuses on the main board and also look for evidence of leaking fluid which often appears as a stcky residue it should appear shiny with a bright flashlight.

Mitsubishi VS-50703 blurry after move

A halo effect usually means the coolant in the CRTs need replacing in the effected color usually blue goes first followed by green. red seems to be less prone for some reason.

Green "halo" around the bright white images

I have a Samsung HCM5535W rear projection TV that had pretty much the exact same problem-- a green halo around bright white images. I researched it on the net, and determined the most likely problem was with the convergence STK-ICs, or the convergence board. I bought a replacement board with the STK ICs and installed it, but no luck, the problem persisted. I decided to mess with the manual focus adjustment on the green crt (i was seeing a green halo), and that fixed it. As it turns out, no replacement parts were necessary to fix the problem in the first place. Hope this helps somebody out there.
