Do you have to have A modem connected between A belking wireless G router and the phone line? Doesn't the router become the modem too, will not connect to the internet because it says I need A modem aswell???
If you can get to the internet, you already have a modem connected. Either a dial-up modem or a LAN modem. Whats your configuration? Do you want to connect wireless to a laptop (or another desktop) through your desktop? Both pc's need a ethernet card. One of them needs to be a wireless ethernet. The other needs to connect to the router by cable or wireless. But, lets backup. Do you have DSL or a standard phone line?

Yes, you do need a modem (DSL, Cable). This router does not function as a modem.
