Question about Washing Machines
I am getting and OP error code and the top is closed. I pressed start/pause and it still blinks OP. I checked to see if it was a fuse and its not.
I have had this problem 3 times. My washer just started this again last night. UNPLUG MACHINE FIRST!! If you are standing in front of your mashine, the top lifts up (you can use a butter knife or screwdriver to push in the clips, they are about 2 inches in from the corner). There will be a white lock control on the left hand side, just under the lid by the bleach dispenser. It has a little silver bolt/screw holding it on. Remove this, but watch out, the bumper will fall off from the other side. Unplug the wires from the lock mechanism. It just pulls out. There are little locks that hold the lock mechanism closed. They will probably break, mine did! Open the mechanism. There is a little glass tube with a black wire soldered to one end and a red wire on the other. The wire is so little, it rusts off quickly. That's exactly what I found. You can resolder this and then tape the mechanism back together. This is very easy. I already have a repair scheduled (Extended warranty), but everytime I have this piece of s____ machine fixed, it costs me the price of a new machine that actually works in laundry mat fees for my family of 7. If this will hold me the 2 months it takes till then, what the heck!

If you place a couple magnets over the left gray bumper and the "OP" error code doesn't clear then I feel you have a problem with the Left Hand Lid Lock.
