Tyan motherboard Hi, I have a tyan motherboard in a computer I use for recording music and whilst trying to install a stick of ram, I accidentally broke of one of the little clips that flips over and holds it in place. Do you know where I can get another one if it is fixable? Cheers Andy

Re: tyan motherboard

No replacement is available, and none is needed, the RAM should work without it. Just make sure you push in the RAM all the way, so it's properly seated; usually, the clip will pop into the notch on its own, when its fully seated. If the RAM isn't in all the way, the computer wont recognize it, or may not boot up. There's a few exceptions, when the clip is needed to hold the RAM down, e.g. in laptops and certain server motherboards, where the RAM folds in against the motherboard.

Hi, I am trying to resolve a problem I am having with my Tyan Tempest i5400PW motherboard. My first attempt gave me the following beep sequence : long beep, followed by 3 short beeps, and the same pattern...

Try clearing the CMOS by either the CLR_CMOS jumper which should be marked on the motherboard or remove the power cord from the PSU (power supply unit) and then take out the BIOS battery for 20 minutes. Put the battery bac k in and see if the motherboard will fire up and display.
While you wait make sure the CPU's (both of them) are seated properly and also make sure that the RAM is seated properly in the slots.

Good luck.

Board will not boot

Hi, try the motherboard with only CPU, RAM ,graphic card & Power supply. Unplug all other devices attached to it. Clean the golden pins of your RAM & graphic card. (you may need to try other RAM & graphic card)
Please note that you should use not more than 4GB of RAM & the frequency of the RAM should not exceed 533MHZ (It won't boot).
If the above don't work, you should clear CMOS of your motherboard.
I think that would help you.

Tyan tiger mpx (S2466N-4M) weird boot problem

probably the board is bad or the board is grounded out on the chassis edge somewhere or possibly the mounting screws...

recommendation.. pull the system out of the chassis

test the power and board on a sheet of cardboard...

also try one stick of memory only and set the options for full ecc scrubbing on to test the memory correctly

Cannot install any Windows OS system

My first course of action would be to isolate the problem. So what i would do is un hook one of the 500 gb Sata drives. Then try to install on one. Once you get it up and running hook the second one up and let windows find it. Also another note of thumb is make sure you have not over exceeded your ram slot capabilities. Find the techical manual on the manufactures web site. Each ram slot has a max amount and speed. If you exceed these it can cause windows programs to halt. I do think that if you isolate down to one sata drive install your os then add your second Sata you should be good to go. If you are still having problems feel free to contact me. TechWizard
