Question about Standard (CRT) Televisions
My mum has had her widescreen traditional toshiba TV for 7yrs,the picture has now got vertical lines, the colour is distorted and there seems to be a shadow effect on faces.do you know what the problem is likely to be?And if so is it worth fixing or better to just buy a new TV? We have tryed the ariel/sky on another TV but the picture was fine.
It is due to poor focusing please check 1 set with focus control fitted on flyback transformer, 2 check focus control wire comes to crt base is loose or some foreign material deposited on it. 3 crt base loose contact. 4 if tv is old then there is a possibility of crt is getting weak. if you are not a technical person do not open set as tv has very high voltage inside. hope this will help.
