Have a Canon F50 Multipass. The alarm light is flashing. It will not "pull" the paper thru to be copied or to receive a fax. Sounds like wheels are turning but possibly unable to grab the paper..??.. Any ideas? Thanks!

I looked into your suggestion. Did not work because the paper is not even getting to the rollers. Paper is loaded; but Canon Multipass F50 says "Load Paper" as if it doesn't recognize that paper is in the tray. It makes a noise like it is trying to pull the paper; but does not. It was working fine on Friday; but first time I tried to use it on Monday morning, I got this error message. Is there some sort of sensor or motor that controls this function? I really like my F50 would like to get it going. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Attempt to re-surface any replaceable rollers with a brillo or Scotch Bright pad ONLY if you are unable to locate replacement rollers. This will reduce the life of the rollers further and can permanently render them defective

Any rollers in the paper path and in the tray area(s) should have texture and should not be glossy or completely smooth with the exception of hard-plastic rollers used only as guides.

Alarm light is flashing and it says to check printer - I am not able to reset the machine

You need a shop to enter service mode and find out the error, any one of 8-10 different things can be causing your error.

Alarm light blinks. printer doesn't work. When I open it, the Ink Cartridges do NOT slide over to the left, as they usually do. They just stay hidden on the right side. Something isn't right there.

I would have to see the machine to define the error, could be a purge unit error, paper feed error, carriage movement error, your right, something wrong there...

Alarm light blinking

Could be any number of things, carriage error, paper feed error, printhead gone out, even a logic pcb error, you need a shop to define the error, not enough to go on.

The alarm is flashing

Wrong cartridge means your printhead is worn out, not inks, you just need a new printhead.

Canon MultiPASS F50 won't copy but will scan

Does the copy function work if you place the document to be copied on the platen (open the cover and lay it on the glass)? If so, check the area to the left of the platen. There should be a strip of glass with a clear plastic cover over it. This area is used for scanning when feeding paper through the automatic document feeder (ADF) from the top. This area must be clean. If this area is clean and clear, it's possible that the scanner element (below the glass) is no longer going all the way to the left when using the ADF. This would be a problem that would require servicing.
