I have the same problem. I opened the iQue carefully and couldn't find anything broken or loose.
@simplemitch: thanks for the suggestion about the microswitch. Do you know where the micro switch of the antenna is located? Inside the main housing of the iQue, in the flip-up antenna, or in the hinge?Hello,

If you can obtain an external antenna from another IQ3600 user it
will plug into the connecter on the top of the unit and bypass the fold out antenna. I had to buy one because the windshield in my Pont Montanna would block the satalite signals. When I plug in the external antenna I do not have to fold out the antenna on the unit.
That will check to see if the unit is recieving and /or if the fold out
wire is broken. The external antenna is not Garmin specific but the
plug on the end is so another gps antenna with the same end plug works.
How long does it try to find the satellites? If it trys for a half hour of more with no results, the antenna may be broken. I have read in other forms that people have added an external antenna and their units would then work, evfen with the built in antenna broken.
I have the g510 with a kenwood head unit. On the satellite screen, on the left it only shows one satellite and on the right it is showing that there are upwards of six or so satellites that it is receiving reception from. I thought it might be the antenna, so I bought a new one. Still having the same problem. It cannot find my location. I've updated the software, I don't know what to do!!
mine does the same thing....i even have the external add on antenna, mine turns on fine but as soon as you flip the antenna up on the back, the screen starts flashing and the system keeps rebooting over and over again...
Well unfortunately, sounds like it's replacement time.... same problem I had with mine. Even with an external antenna...no or little signal. Garmin charges $200 canadian for an exchange unit.
So much for costumer support.
Good luck.
