Maytag DWU7400BAX dishwasher cycles but no water is being sprayed
First, how can I find a manual for this dishwasher?
Second, I tried to post this problem twice before but have not seen it appear in the solutions areas, solved or not solved. Hope this gets posted. I had a sink back up that resulted in my dishwasher filling up with water causing the water to flow out the bottom of the door. After unclogging the sink and adding an air gap (recommended by a friend with similar situation), I tried to run the dishwasher. It cycled correctly, even opening the soap door. However, there was no water in the tub and the soap was not disolved. I tried to run a couple of times with the same results. Any suggestions as to what I can try to ''fix'' before I go buy a new one? The best guess of the age of this machine is about 10 yrs, give or take.
Re: Maytag DWU7400BAX dishwasher cycles but no water is...
There are owners manuals on Maytags website but their pretty much useless. there is a water valve switch underneath your washer that is controlled by a float switch and the timer. With the breaker off you can test the micro switch with an ohms meter to see if it is working correctly and with the power on you can test to see if the water valve is getting voltage. there are parts break downs on Partselect website that are pretty detailed and will help you with the locations of all your parts.

I'm now soaked, but I was able to determine that the lower arm isn't turning. There's a LOT of water coming out, but it doesn't move. Turning by hand I can turn it freely, it spins like a top. .... Have you tried tighten the spray arms? They may have come lose at the fittings so need to be tightened up. You can normally tighten them with your hand. Take any traps/filters out of the dishwasher and clean them. You may find answers here: https://www.maytag.com
If you
are noticing that the dishes are not clean, then there are a few things to
check for. Check the soap powder if it's kept in a dry environment. Also try
replacing the powder with something like a gel or liquid. Next thing to check
for is the water pressure and fill valve. Check if the water is filling in and
the spray arms are throwing the water with enough pressure. Try and listen to
the sound if you hear a proper spraying action sound.
If it
seems as a low water pressure then check the fill valve. Now, check if
dishwasher is draining the water or not. While the dishwasher is working check
whether the dishwasher is draining and there is not much left out water after
the cycle is complete. Try cleaning the spray arm with a soft brush. The water
temperature plays a major role in cleaning of dishes. The temp should be
between 125 and 150 F for dishwasher to clean the dishes.
Hope
this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged
drain filter or drain pump. Check the drain hose for any visible clogging,
remove if present. If no visible lint is present then remove then turn off the
dishwasher and remove the drain hose and check for any visible clogging. If
still not visible then the drain filter or drain pump is clogged and you'll
need to clean the drain filter and drain pump. The water

Make sure the upper arm is spraying water as it should. If it is the dirt separator may not be working correctly. It is under the lower arm and separates the dirt while the water is being reused to spray during the cycle. It then gets flushed out when the water is pumped out. Post your model number for more help.
Pour 1 Cup of Muriatic Acid (Can be purchased at your local Pool Supply Store) into the bottom of the washer and a little in the soap dish. Run the Dishwasher through 5 cycles. Check to see If this helps. If not Try the same process with CLR house cleaner.
does the timer advance the control knob? check to see that nothing is in the way of the center spray tower. does it sound like any water is spraying around inside?
