Beginning on page 20, you'll see that there are two types of timers and two ways to remove the knob.

Ours is a metal version and we found that you have to hold the back part of the metal shaft with a thin needle nose pliers in order to unscrew the knob.

if you pull on the knob it will come off it has a metal clip that is pretty snug on the stem but it will come off, you still have to take the cack cover plate off to get to the switch and do the actual replacement

If there is a black tab on the back of the timer, it needs to be pulled out of the timer before you can remove the knob

If you are talking about the Cycle Selection knob, turn the washer to an OFF position, or unplug. I can't remember if you need to pull the knob out or leave pushed in, but the knob will come off by turning it counter-clockwise. After unscrewing it and removing, the plastic dial under the center knob will simply pull off. I hope this helps you. If you need further assistance, please let me know.

there is a switch that is broken behind the knobs they cost no more than $15.00. remove the knob so that you can see it it's white in color.

I had the same problem. I coudn't get the knob to turn. I ended up taking the front grill off so I could get a better grip on the knob. Once I did that I still have to put a lot of pressure on the knob to turn it but that did the trick. When I got it turned a quarter turn then it was easy to pull the filter out. Hope this helps!

Normally, to remove the timer knob, simply push in on the timer knob and turn the knob counter clockwise. it should unscrew itself. If it does not, the shaft inside the timer has broken and the shaft simply free wheels so then you need to take a needle nose pliers to hold the shaft and then you can turn the knob or pull it off

yes. it slides on a off with a little pressure.

the knob should be able to be removed by gently grabbing it with 2 fingers and pull straight out and possibly make a little side to side motion and it will come off.
