Ice maker water will not shout off Model WRS965CIAE it just runs till the tray overfills

Hello Andy;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service appliance technician.

You have one of two problems.

1.) Ice maker module - Part Number 821515
http://www.ebay.com/bhp/ice-maker-module.

Fortunately, your ice maker is repairable. The module is like a little computer. It has a circuitry, a motor and a rotating gear set. The module tells the water solenoid valve when to turn on and how much water to fill the cube tray. Then it reads a sensor telling the module that the cubes are frozen. Then it turns on a heater under the cube mold. After a period the module tells the motor to turn on and harvest the ice cubes. It also has a lever arm on/off switch.

Watch the video. Remove the module from the ice maker. You may need a small flat head ***** driver to pop off the cover to get to it. Inspect the circuitry for any burn marks.

You will need to jump start the ice maker after reassembly and if you decide to just buy a new one.
1.) Insert a piece of 12 or 14 gauge jumper wire into the two holes on the face of the module marked: "T' and "H".
2.) Hold in the door light switch.
3.) After the module starts wait 5 seconds and remove the jumper, while still holding in the door light switch, until the ice maker has completer it's cycle and fills with water.
This will not solve your problem. This is how to start the icemaker - not shown in the video

Module Cost: Sears $98.56 + Tax
Ebay $25.00

2.) Ice Maker Water Solenoid Valve: Part Number W10341320.
If your ice maker is filling with water, then the solenoid is working, but the spool valve may be sticking and not closing quickly.

See general replacement video.

Solenoid Valve Cost: Sears $80.00
Search the internet for best price including used.

Go into the Sears website and put in your refrigerator model number. You will get diagrams and component part numbers.

Raritan icer-ette only filling 5 of 8 slots in ice mold

They marine ice makers are fussy. The ice maker needs to be level or water will drip down into the ice bin. The amount of water entering the tray is controlled by time. The other factor is pressure. The marine water system has a relatively low water pressure as compared from marina water feed.

I would confirm the number of cubes produced from the unit when connected directly to the city water pressure. If at the highest pressure it is below expectations I would follow the video. How Do Adjust an Icemaker Home Appliances

There is a screen filter before the solenoid line that can fill with debris. So you may need to check it if you can not make a satisfactory adjustment.
If you are like me and always work form the internal water tank avoiding a burst water line and "sink the ship" then adjust it for the lower pressure.

Make sure you have it in a cool area. also make sure the door gaskets are sealing good if warm air is penetrating the box it will keep it running. also make sure cold control is working properly if it is not sensing a cold enough box it will keep if running.

My icemaker will get cold but wont make ice.

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly

Here is what the manual says:

_____________________________________________________________

3A. Nonfunctioning water valve assembly. 3A. Clean or replace solenoid valve assembly.

3B. Mold heater assembly. 3B. Contact Raritan Technical Support.

3C. Water supply turned off. 3C. Provide pressurized water.

3D. Icemaker module. 3D. Replace icemaker module.

3E. Cold control. 3E. Replace cold control.

Although this is for troubleshooting non optical sensor refrigerators:

http://www.american-appliance.com/catalog/newsdesk_info.php?newsPath=12&newsdesk_id=34
The troubleshooting procedures for cycling the unit are exactly the same,
The ice maker module part number for the 120V unit is PN 628366 (do a net search for this part number and save yourslef a bumch of money if you fetermine your moduleis bad) You start the harvest cycle by removing the front cover and then jumpering test points T to H. The white dial will begin to move if there is power to the module. Remove the jumper when the sweep arm reaches 5" o'clock and let the ice maker automatically cycle. It should harvest, and fill in on complete turn of the white dial. If it does not fill you probably have a water supply or water valve problem. There is an inline input power fuse for the ice maker. Power should come in via the red wire.

Mind you the ice maker has an internal thermostat behind the module assy that has to reach 15 deg F to start the harvest cycle. When you jumper T to H you are bypassing the thermostat. If the thermostat fails or the unit does not reach 15 deg F then the harvest cycle will never begin.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

Need new solenoid for raritan ice maker model #55

I believe the part number is 2552A and you should be able to find that number on the valve. If you check U-line website you can find parts locator under customer service. www.u-line.com
that should be able to tell you where to buy the part.
