My Zen V Plus (4GB) is frozen. I can't get it to unfreeze. When I turn it on, it loads the same song, and then freezes. I try to shut it off, and that doesn't work, so I poke a paper clip in the reset hole, and it shuts off. I turn it back on, and it reloads the memory, and then loads the same song and freezes again. So I just let the battery die, and I plugged it into my computer, charged it, and then turned it on. Same song. Still frozen... :(

-   I have the same problem in that my player loads up the mp3 it was last playing and it seems to freeze the whole player.

My problem is compounded by the fact that the battery has now been run down to nothing and I can't recharge it because everytime I connect it, it turns on to that song. I can't turn the player off and I can't get into recovery mode.

Is my player pretty much bricked?

-   I have exactly the same problem. I reset, turn it on and it Freezes at the last song it was playing. Except it's not playing. I've installed a new battery and it's still the same. I have tried the recovery tool from Creative, but it won't find my device because I'm running vista. Please someone help. I'm ready to throw it out.-   mvieira786

ok. I have the same device. (White). Can you connect it to your computer?

close to the bottom of the screen. We will probably need to update your firmware after we get it running

- goto the recovery tool and right click on it, goto properties and then compatibility run it under xp serv pack2

Start in recovery mode after reset (hold down play)
Select reload firmware.
Download the latest firmware from support.creative.com.
Plug the player into the computer, and reinstall firmware.
