windows cannot formate this drive. Quit anydisk utilities or other programs that are using this drive and make sure that no windows is displaying the contents of the drive. then try formatting again.

Write delay failed...

That is a sign of corrupted memory. Try to run a scan disk on it.

Assumed: Drive letter for the pen drive is G: (If it is not f then replace G with the correct drive letter)

Start > Run > CMD (Click ok, if done proper you will get a black box)
in the black box type in:
 chkdsk f: /f /r /x
It will really look something like this
C:\Documents and settings\Administrator\chkdsk G: /f /r /x

Mostly the FAKEs / imitation of original products have these types of errors where the actual memory capacity of the memory IC is not (less than) what has been shown on the casing. The microcontroller IC for the memory chip is FLASHED with a Patch so that it fools your OS to report a fake larger capacity than it actually is.

e.g. your 8GB pendrive may actually have a 256MB memory chip...so if u try to store beyond 256MB, your files are corrupted.

Kingston datatraveler 8G shows write protection error, contain a virus outorun.inf, cannot save, cannot be formated and cannot delete. Please help.

1. Open Notepad and do not write anything in it. Just go to File > Save as (save it with the name: autorun.inf)

2. Copy the autorun.inf file that you have created in the above step and paste in your "Pen Drives"

3. Remove your pen drive.

After removing the pendrive, re-insert in your PC. Now your anti-virus will not detect any virus in your PC. And Your pendrive is 100% safe to use.
