I'm having the same problem! I have tried putting it on a firm base and adjusting light etc. and it will just not focus if i use the zoom. The first stages of the zoom are alright to use for if i zoom in further it goes blurry

I've had exactly the same problem for 2-3 years. Use the zoom and the focus goes completely. The greater the zoom magnification the greater the blurring, to the extent that it is pointless using the zoom. I'm just assuming that the camera has developed an electronic fault which could well be very expensive to repair. I probably need a new camera.

Have the same problem No focus when I use the zoom. The more zoom the worse the focus becomes.

1. What is the focal length of lens you are using? 2. Is the blur occurring with lens with a lower focal length than the telelens? 3. Do you still get a blur when you use the telelens with a tripod or a firm base? Regards Raman

Appears that the auto focus mechanism is not working, This anomaly is most obvious in lower light situations when focusing is much more critical.

If the camera was new and two months old I would either return it for another one or have Nikon repair the lens assembly under the terms of its warranty.

I have Nikon Coolpix S80000. It becomes blurry when I use the telephoto lense and for night photos too. What settings should I have it on to avoid this? Anne

You could raise the ISO or better yet, use a tripod. In dim light and when using telephoto, the camera uses a slower shutter speed and any movement from you results in a blurry picture.

wipe off the lense with a clothe or something, that might be the problem. Or if you move the cam too much when you are trying to take a pic, that also mighht be the problem. If not, I have no idea.

Blurred Images with Olympus E520

When operating any digital camera, the camera tries to capture the best focus and exposure for that particular scene. By pressing the shutter button half-way down, the focus and exposure is being set. There will be a green circle on the upper left hand corner of the screen, then your camera is ready to take the picture. Slowly depress the shutter the rest of the way down to take the picture.

Just returned from trip to Cuba..most photos taken outside and few inside...all photos were exc. or good except the ones I used with the telephoto feature. Had I left it on the W feature, these photos would have been ok...also make sure the focus ring lens adj. is not on the macro imaging feature..found that focus ring lens setting sometimes moved when I put the camera into its case

Won't focus when zooming into the subject

It seems that the lense element which mooves while zooming the camera is stucked. normally this happens when the camera suffers a heavy jery, may be by dropping the camera. Resulting into disalingment of the lense assambly. You will need the help of repair shop to solve the problem.
