Siemens speedstream 4100 adsl modem faulty

I have 2 of these modems.
The power switch is faulty on 1. I checked online & it seems its a common problem & 1 site suggested shorting it by solder so its permanently in an always "on" position. Couldn't find any diagrams/schematic on how it works cuz i thought of cannibalizing the switch from the other modem.
On the other one, i cant access the GUI at all, even after disabling my firewall. The LEDs all come on & then the 1st 2 - power, ethernet remain on (green). The other 3 - dsl, internet, activity stay off.
