I have a jandy LT200 propane heater which doesn't turn on. When power is on the lights on electronic board all flash once and then go off. 2amp fuse going to transistor is fine, not blown. I replaced the ignition control and that wasn't the problem. The red LED light on the ignition control comes on for one second when powered up and then goes out. I also replaced the blower pressure switch. It's as if a fault occurs and power shuts off.

If this heater is hooked up to automation check the temperature reading on the indoor remote. If it reading over 104 the sensor is bad and the heater will not fire thinking that it is at set temp.

Thx for your reply, however, this heater doesn't have automation check. It's not a digital temp unit. It gas manual knobs for the heater control. A neighbor thinks the temperature circuit board is bad but How do u check for that part being bad?

SOURCE: jandy lite2 heater has fl5 error code, all voltages look good

If all voltage test points are within range, then it's 1 of 3 problems: Power Conversion Plug is faulty; Power Control Board is faulty; or Controller is faulty. Jandy says there is no way to test any of these directly. They recommend that you replace both the Power Conversion Plug (~$35) and the Power Control Board (~$230). Apparently when one fails, it can cause the other to fail as well. They said that unless the Controller has a lot of corrosion on it, then it probably is not the issue.

SOURCE: My Jandy Laars LX 400,000 BTU heater flashes "low pressure"

Once you try to ignite three times in succession, and the heater doesn't sense the presence of flame, the heater goes into "lockout" mode and must be reset to fire. This can be done by pressing and releasing the mode button so that the heater is turned off then returned to the desired mode. So if you were going to "jumper" the pressure switch, (connecting two wires together) make sure you do the reset also. Make sure you don't operate like this, if your pump quit, you could have a melt down. Also If you have anything connected to the fireman switch, it is in series with the pressure switch, and woud display the same thing. There is a terminal with two white wires, if there is a jumper there, then nothing conected, but if there is something connected, make sure it is closed. Also be sure your code was for Water pressure and not air pressure switch. You can download manuals at: www.jandy.com

Laars lj 400 heater has blown both inline fuses. Hot surface ignitor was replaced and new fuses installed. Both fuses burnt again. Safty curcuit was bypassed and fuses replaced again. BURNTagain! upon...

It is likely the voltage selector board, the smaller of the two, that is bad. In the past Jandy has recommended changing the heater over to 115V as a better option if you keep loosing the board(s). I forget their exact logic as to why but the last one of those I had behave like this was a few years ago and once we replaced all the burned up electronics and converted the power and the heater over to 115 it never failed again.

Perhaps Jandy would explain further if you need additional info, try calling:

Service light and ags light comes on after a minute or two

I had this problem. Jandy ended up replacing the burner from day 1 with the heater (LT400 propane). It was a manufacturing defect. Of course it took 5 trips from the "warranty" company to not fix it before they finally punted to Jandy. Then, there's only one Jandy service rep from VA to ME (I'm in PA).
