PICTURE GOES OUT ON MY MITSUBISHI MODEL # VS-4543.
I have this Model VS-4543, Tv that the picture goes out, with sound. I smack the side of the tv and the picture comes back most of the time immediately. However, occasionally it has not always come back right away. What could be wrong? What can you suggest for me to look at and determine if it is something I can fix or not?

Check and replace the main power regulator [SMPS] board to your TV. Contact any service technician, or the authorized service center for Mitsubishi. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Viewing it in "Mosaic" will make surf easy. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
This is annoying, but common. There is a delay to the backlight that sometimes seems to get stuck and can usually be resolved by restarting right after you turn it off. If it wont light up at all, you may need a new inverter depending on how old the set is.
I usually find that symptom you describe is caused by cracked solder joints on the power regulators or vertical output IC. I have also seen that symptom caused by loose solder joints on the vertical windings up inside one of the yokes. If you have experience in repairing TV's then you can disassemble the set and pull the main chassis, flip it over and resolder all of the parts mounted on heat sinks. If you do not have experience in repairing projection TV's then allow a qualified tech to handle it for you.
coul'be overheat solder the cause of a loose connection , and or convergence ic 's almost ready to fail . the cost to repair will be around 250.00 to fix replacing the ic's depending of the tech. or 350.00 at repair shop
