Question about NetGear RangeMax WPN824 Router
I have spent hours trying to get this going. I play the cd and follow all the instructions but when I turn in computer is changes my computer ip address and I cannot log into the internet. I have to go from modem to computer and go to dos and release and renew ip which give me internet accress but not through router which has to be unconnected.Do I have a defective router? How do I establish a network. I am running XP home and have a dsl conection to sbs yahoo
The pc will have to have the ip address changed as the router will give a different one to your old modem. open up your web browser and go to tools, internet options and see browsing history, click on delete and delete all temp internet files and history, then click the connections tab and ensure that your modem is showing as the default dial up or if its a modem router ensure never dial a connection is ticked. go to your network card properties in network connections and on the TCP/IP line click properties again and ensure obtain an ip address is ticked, click ok, then restart pc. When rebooted, open web browser and refresh a few times, you should then be on the net.
