Question about NEC MultiSpin NR-9100 (NR-9100A) CD-RW Burner
Hi, I have a _NEC CD-RW NR-9100A i can't if find it on my computer folder i found it on my device manager i also uninstalled it and reboot the computer it comes back but it still won't work and it still not on my computer folder is disable me to load or download cd's i also try troubleshooter but it stop me and tells me that activeX control on this page is not safe please tell me what do i do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You need to check the Master slave settings of this device, you can only have 1x master & 1x slave on an IDE channel, if you set to the wrong one then the devices will conflict, if you are replacing a drive check what setting it had and replicate the same setting on the replacement CD drive. the master slave setting pins are usually next to the 40pin IDE connector on the back of the drive. hope this helps :D

Tips for a great answer:
Jan 30, 2011 | NEC NR 7900A (NR7900) CD-RW Burner
Click on Start, Run, and type regedit and press Enter
Click on the plus signs (+) next to the following folders
This folder is the DVD/CD-ROM Drive Class Description in the registry. Look for any of the following names in the right hand column.
If any of the above keys shown in step 4 are listed, right-click on them and choose Delete
After deleting the keys, close the registry editor
Reboot your computer
Open My Computer and check to see if your CD or DVD drives have returned. You may also want to open Device Manager and verify that the yellow exclamation and error code on the CD or DVD drive is gone.
hope this helps
