Remove dual agitator

The agitator in your Maytag Dependable Care washer uses a back-and-forth motion to move your clothes from the top of the washtub to the bottom and back to the top again. The fins on the side of the agitator help facilitate this movement. When one of the fins sustains damage or the agitator fails to move, you must remove the agitator to make the necessary repairs.Disconnect your Maytag Dependable Care washer from the electrical wall outlet. Turn off the valves supplying water to the appliance.
2 Open the washer's lid to access the agitator. Look for a 1/4-inch hex screw recessed in an opening about three-quarters down the side of the agitator.
3 Insert a 1/4-inch nut driver into the opening in the side of the agitator. Fit the nut driver over the head of the screw. Turn the screw counterclockwise to remove it.Grab the bottom of the agitator with both hands. Pull the agitator from the bottom of the washtub.

How do u replace the agitator on a fisher & paykel clothes washer gwl15 ?

Disconnect power then lift the lid open. Pry the dispenser assembly off the agitator top then remove the agitator bolt by turning it counterclockwise. Once the bolt is off, lift the agitator then install the new agitator in place. Secure it with the agitator bolt then put the dispenser assembly back into position. Lifting the basket helps budge the agitator and remove it more easily.

Washtub will not move

Unplug the washing machine, and turn off the water supply to the machine. If necessary, remove the water hoses from the back of the washing machine because they may be in the way of the access panel.
Check that the agitator is seated correctly by opening the lid of the washing machine. If it's loose, pop off the top of the agitator--if there is one--and tighten the bolt that holds the agitator in place. Or, in some models, simply pull straight up and then reseat the agitator.
Remove the access panel located in the back of the washing machine by unscrewing the screws holding it in place. This allows access to the drive motor.
Press on the drive belt that works the agitator. If the belt moves more than 3/4 inch, tighten the belt to fix the spinner problem. If the belt is worn or cracked, replace the belt.
Replace the drive motor, if tightening or replacing the drive belt doesn't fix the agitator. Purchase a new drive motor at a wholesale retailer. Disconnect wiring, remove screws holding motor in place and insert new motor. Screw into place, and connect wiring.
Check for any black substance leaking under the washing machine. This might indicate a clutch problem, if the washing machine spinner is not working. Contact a professional repairman to replace the clutch.

Is there a way to remove the agitator? I have a belt stuck under the agitator?

Jdangullet --
Yes, the agitator assembly can be removed. The WPRE6100G parts diagram is available at: [] The top plastic portion of the agitator can be removed to access the screw [SCR 1/4-20 MCH HXW 5/8 S] securing the coupling assembly. If you have questions, write back. -- SWT

Agitator free spins, will not engage, sounds like a gear is stripped. How do I remove agitator

At the top of the agitator there is a seperation of the agitator and the very top of the agitator. If you hold the fins of the agitator and attempt to unscrew the very top of the agitator this should come loose allowing you access to pull the rest of the agitator out
Hope this helped

Fin inside came off

remove toe kick panel screws by the floor and lift upward on front cover and pull upward to remove like lifting a car hood, then there are screws just inside the bottom side of the top cover, remove these and tip top back and secure top as to not break off electrical connections off control panel, then you can access the screws for the paddle fins to re-secure to the drum,if they're oblong from wear and tear either replace or fill the hole with a cement for this purpose and put in 2 match stick pieces (quickly)before glue sets and this will take up slack and seize paddle screw all in one

Clothes get stuck between drum and opening, come out with "burn marks"

There should be a felt type seal on the drum in that opening to prevent this. It could be that it fell off or wore out. It is a hassle to put on unless you have good access but not difficult with a bit of patience.

A sweatshirt cord got stuck aroud the base of the agitator of our GE g157 washer. we pulled half of it our and now the rest won't budge. can we just cut it?

hi The agitator -- the finned part that fits on the tub shaft -- can also tear laundry if the fins are cracked or broken. You may be able to solve the problem temporarily by pinching off the splinters with pliers and lightly filing the plastic smooth, but this is just a stopgap measure; the agitator should be replaced. Replace a damaged agitator with a new one of the same type. To do this, unscrew the cap on top of the agitator. With the cap off, pull straight up on the agitator; it should lift off. If it doesn't move, rap its side with a hammer. If it still won't lift off, drive wedges under the bottom rim of the agitator to dislodge it. Then set the new agitator into place and replace the agitator cap.
