Question about Logitech QuickCam Communicate STX Personal Web Camera

2 Answers

Slow Motion I just recently bought a logitech quickcam, however, it seems to move really slowly. When I try to record a simple video, it makes me look like I'm moving in really slow motion. It looks really badly, for the sound and the picture doesn't match up. It's about 3 seconds off. Is there any way that I can fix it? I'm pretty sure it's not the internet, for my college's internet is pretty fast. Thanks!

I bought my quickcam, used it for about 3 hours, worked absolutely great.
then that same day only later at night it was sluggish. i tried resetting all the settings, thinking maybe it was something I had done, but that didn't help, idk??
    If I can't find a solution, I'll return it.

I have had this problem since I bought this webcam almost 2 years ago. It is the webcam. There is some kind of glitch in the software. I would never buy this one again, it is very annoying. Sometimes it will work fine and then something throws it off. No idea what the cause of the problem is.

Just clear some memory on your computer and it will help your webcam perform better, just like it did for me.

Normal 0 How much memory is installed in your computer? The camera uses quite a bit of your memory to operate properly and would cause the poor video. Could be other
Issues, but worth checking.
Hope this helps. Bud

Logitech quickcam communicate stx will not save videos

Make sure your really recording a video and you have enough hard drive space for saving the recorded video on your computer. You might have to reinstall also the webcam software to resolve this recording problem.
I hope this could help you..:-) Thanks..

Logitech quickcam gi ves me fuzzy picture when i

A bit of fuzziness is expected especially when you move. How fuzzy depends on speed of your computer and the capture ability of the camera. I have quickcam that is 1.3 megapixel. Stationary objects are pretty clear, but all motion is fuzzy and distorted. Move slowly to help minimize the distortion. When using instant messaging or Skype, set camera to a smaller image size for faster compression and transfer.

I bought and installed a quickcam IM plus. Videos choppy.

Sounds like your CPU may be overloaded. A simple way to check is to do a CTRL-ALT-DEL and look at the performance. See if any application is hogging your resources and, if so, you can change some of the settings to be more friendly to your system.

Playback intermittently plays in slow motion and in fast

Have you tried using a different DVD-RW? If you have used the same one over and over, it may have been corrupted by frequent use.

Has the camcorder done this since you bought it or is this a recent problem. If it is more recent it could be a problem with the read/write heads on the camera itself.

If this doesn't work, comment on the solution post and we can continue to trouble shoot.

Hope this helps!!!

Video recording web cam

You can set a time limit for video when you use the motion sensor. Or just find a button that says "stop recording".
