Re: Cruzer Scandisk 2.0 titanium

Hi, Not unless you are using Windows98, your PC should automatically recognize the SanDisk Cruzer Titanium as a "Removable Storage/Device". Driver is not required for Windows ME, W2k or XP. If for some reason the SanDisk Cruzer Titanium (non-U3 devices) is not recognizable, then perhaps it is not a problem with the PC but with the SanDisk. Pls try all other USB ports of your PC (front and back). The SanDisk website provides utilities/software for this kind of eventuality. They are Sansa Firmware Updater and Sansa Connect Recovery Tool. Both are available at Pls be forwarned that some utilities can and will reset your SanDisk to default and any or all data can and may be deleted. Hope this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things are or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards.

I accendentally knocked out my scandisk and it won't work

Good day sir/maam, you must not remove the sandisk especially if its reading the disk, data can get corrupted. In doing so may destroy even your sandisk cruzer. Try the unit in other PC. do it several times. if still cant be recognize, bring it to your dealer, they have in house tech that may save your disk. if not you can demand for a new one if its under warrantee. As for your file, sad to say this you may need to back up more often, especially important ones. hope this helps

Cruzer micro 1.0 GB

The Cruzer Micro flash drive either uses a proprietary operating system to function and load its set of utilities that include encryption, etc. or it doesn't... most of them do. Without this intact you drive won't function and be recognized. The Operating System is called U3.

Select this link to download the San Disk format, read/write check utility for your flash drive. It will also report back the need or not for the U3 Launch Pad (to be recognized and run in Windows).

Once you have run the utility and it has offered to format your drive from scratch again, if need be, to get it working as it was, and you've been told the drive supports or requires the U3 Launch Pad select this link to reach the download page and choose between the Titanium or Titanium Plus, download install the appropriate U3 Launch Pad operating system.

As you may already know, your flash drive and all San Disk products have a five year warranty. For what these drives cost today the postage alone to send it in would come awful close to the purchase price of another one. But, the choice is yours.

Me, I'm looking at the Cruzer Voyager 8GB to replace my 2GB drive as the Voyager is shock proof and water proof and has been field tested for several months now. Its available at here for half the price as when it first came out. Its selling for $59.99 and there is a $20 mail in rebate that makes the final cost even sweeter.

I hope all of the above information gets you going again and has fixed your problem. Please don't forget to rate this as fixed. I'd get your 1GB drive straightened with my solutions and then get an 8GB Voyager at some point.

USB device not recognized

not fixable.
device can not tell os what it is. that is the most basic of functions.
without id, it can not set configuration needed to access data.
probably already lost data anyway.
replace is about the only option.

sorry for the news
good luck

SanDisk 4GB cruzer URGENT problem! Please, please help! :)

it may have overheated and became stuck. Stick it in a plastic bag and put it in the freezer for 1/2 hour then try it. Do not leave it out without power for long or moisture will condense on it.

Sandisk cruzer micro 2gb not detected

You only need to use disk management !!
    for Win_XP:
    Right click 'My Computer'.
    Choose 'Manage'
In the left pane, under 'Storage', Choose: 'Disk Management'.
When device is connected it will appear as: 'Disk xx - Removable'.
It should be not allocated (Black Line), so you only need to created a new partition and format it.
    Good Luck !! :-)
