My XBox 360 has recently been unable to play any games. I put a disc in the tray and press the close button, but the tray keeps opening automatically. I tried to close the tray without a disc being inserted and it still happens. The only way I can close it is by holding it closed when turning the console off. I tried this last method once successfully with a game inside, booting up the console again and the game played fine, so I think it's just a fault with the disc tray closing mechanism. It's no longer under warranty. Any ideas on repairing it?
I was experimenting with the xbox a few days ago and turned it on it's side (it used to be kept flat) then opened the disk drive and inserted a disk. When I closed the tray it stayed closed and I could once again play games. Anyway, I was able to call xbox 360 customer support. We did the troubleshooting but it still would not work, so they took my xbox 360 in for repairs. I would not try to fix it on your own because it might negate the warranty.
