Neff 1031 2

I switched on the knob on my Neff 1031-2 (195306923) oven and turned it in the normal manner when they was a noise of sorts and the mains blew on the main house circuit breaker. I replaced the fuse wire in the main circuit box and had disconnected the oven from the mains. When the oven blew there was a slight puff of smoke and a smell of electrical burning. I have not used the oven since. I have looked at the electrics but clearly this needs the expertise of an electrician. Any thoughts on what could or is likely to have happened and is it a case of a replacement part or something likely to be more terminal?

HI Zuso,

Use your original wire and hook up Left to right Line Neutral, and Ground. L N G. Black wire is Line. Green wire is Ground. not sure what UK uses for Neutral. I just know that you need a big wire. And the voltage is supposed to be 220-240Volts.

SOURCE: NEFF OVEN PROBLEM - SMOKE AND FUMES COMING OUT OF OVEN

Take the cover off that is surrounding the fan and you will probably find food or something there or on the fan blades. If it is not a food smell, then there is probably some wiring that is burning. I suspect that there is food behind the housing of the fan.

SOURCE: Neff U1410 main oven trips the main RCD. Occurs

I have a u1421 with the same problem! I notice the fan doesnt run too well, sometimes it doesnt run at all, needs a prod to get it running. I suspect with no fan, that the element gets far too hot, and then starts to leak to earth, tripping the RCD. I'm gonna try buying a new fan motor - you should ckeck if your fan is running full speed OK.

SOURCE: electric main oven fan blows out only cold air

For all Free appliance repair videos visit our VIDEOTUTORIALS Nefffan oven element video1, If the fan motor in the back of the oven is going round andthe temperature light is on (normally little red light), but there is no heatthen you will probably need a new oven element, these are generally very easyto fit and readily available from our website these can be tested with aelectric meter.
To gain access to the NEFF element you willhave to remove the back plate from inside the oven. Once removed you will seethe fan and element, if youlook closely at the element you willprobably see a small hole burnt in it where it has blown. Sometimes howeverthere is no evidence of a fault but the element is open circuit ie:broken inside the element casing, either way it will need replacing. Someelements will are fixed from inside the oven and some are held in place by nutsfrom the rear of the machine.
2, If your NEFF fanoven is getting warm but takes a very long time to cook or is burning the foodmore on one side than the other, then you need to check if your oven fan motor is working you willsee the blade turning fast if it is ok. if the element is heating but the fan motor is not blowing the heat into the oven thenyou need To replace the oven fan motor is a little moreexpensive and a bit more involved.
3. If you have the opposite problem ie: your oven is over heatingand burning everything then you will need to replace your NEFF oven thermostat
4, A quite common and easily overlooked answer is if your NEFF oven is not working at all ie: noheat and no fan then the chances are that someone has put the oven timer into AUTO mode, simply put oven back to MANUAL mode and all should be working again.

SOURCE: My Neff Main Electric oven does not heat up, the

If the thermostat light is lit, then it cannot be the temp control, as this what is causing the light to work, indicating that the power is there . I f I were you, I would ascertain that you are getting a feed to the element.
If you are, then new element is faulty, if no feed then you need to trace the wires back to thermostat and work from there.

The heating control knob on my Neff oven FD8301 came out with what should be holding it inside. What is the best way to deal with that.

Question edited into English for clarity.

There are videos here. If it can't be refitted, you can get a new knob, or a complete unit, controller and the knob.

Press the 2nd and 3rd buttons from the left and hold. Press the far right button to pop it out, then turn to the time you want, it is a 24 hr clock. Release 2nd and 3rd buttons and press pop-out button in so it is out of the way. KH.

Neff u1661n2gb/05. main oven not working and shorts out electric when try to switch on. top oven works no problem

I had a problem similar. The bottom oven stopped working and the left hand set of controls and clock died. I had three figure quotes for repair. I took the main control unit out from behind the switches, its a pain to do. I took pictures of where the wires went to save confusion later. I removed the main switch unit from the control unit by gently pushing back the inbuilt plastic clips. dont loose the small white connector piece on the end of the switch shaft. I gently pulled the switch knobs from the front then the knob extensions through the same holes. once the unit was out I turned it upside down I could see where two solder tracks on the circuit board had burnt out. I gently cleaned them up and bridged the gap with two short tinned pieces of single core wire I had stripped. I used a soldering gun as it gets really hot really fast and wouldnt damage the components underneath. the only fiddly bit when putting it back together was locating the bottom edge of the control unit in the little gulley, I had to bend the edge of the gulley down to make it easier. Once it was all back together it worked. Half an hour and I saved £300! Now I have to fix the hinges on the bottom oven door as it doesnt shut properly at the top. Any ideas anyone?

Your oven might need to be reset first before it will work again normally.

Some panel in my Neff electric oven is making a loud vibration noise on fan mode. The vibration noise stops if the top part of the front surround (with door open) is pushed in. There is no vibration on...

Update: after using the oven with the grill instead of the fan, the problem sorted itself. With the heating and cooling, obviously some panel had not settled correctly and was causing the vibration. It hasn't happened again so far.
