I keep getting the "UC" code. I have ran an empty load through the washer, and it was fine, I also ran the washer through the full cleaning cycle and that was fine. inbetween that i did a load of clothes and no problem, and i tried another and started with the uc code again. I have moved things inside the washer around, The load is a mix of items, but none that are much different in weight. PLEASE HELP!!! Keeps stopping at about 10 minutes left. been like this a few days now!

I just did a repair on my FAV6800AAW by lubricating the needle bearings in the clutch pulley hub, the tub displacement sensor checked OK per the service manual check. I was getting dc/uc errors, washer was purchased in 7/05. I have basic mechanical skills and used a socket wrench to remove clutch pulley hub, just follow the service manual removal steps to remove clutch pulley hub. Pull the plastic cover off the clutch pulley hub and inspect the spring, clean/lube needle bearings and the clutch hub coupler that drives spinner shaft. I used WD40 I may need to re-lube down the road with a good light grease. It took a few tries for me to get the clutch pulley hub to stay on after re-install and power up, getting the clutch pulley seated properly is the trick. I did not remove the washer tub for this fix, I believe I saw a posting where someone did. I just leaned the washer back to get a better reach angle, it is a tight work area. I did not want to junk 3.5 yr old $1k machine with out a trying a fix If you want to work on this model get the service manual, I found it online and I believe you can order it in PDF format from Maytag. Good luck!

I just went thru my 10th load of a mix of light, medium heavy loads and all work fine no unballance errors (DC/UC). Doesn’t fix the tangle problem :) Prior to this fix I could only run the washer with no clothes in it to complete a cycle with no dc/uc error codes.

Yes i can help you ...thats means continous unbalanced load either your loads are too heavy, mixed with very heavy and very light items(impossible for machine to balance) or the tub displacement sensor (the sensor this machine uses to tell if its unbalanced. Test the machine empty if it still shows UC and stops around the 8 min final spin cycle its probably that sensor. I had one do the same thing and it was the sensor. There is a test for the sensor however it is pretty compicated. I could probably step you through in a live chat session. Dont forget to rate my solution as solved if i answered your question accurately.....Thanks!!

Maytag Neptune washer has the error code of UC during the spin cycle. What is the problem?

in the Maytag Neptune FAV6800AW Top Load Washer Forum so I assume the machine type is a FAV6800A or FAV9800A correct?

Most issues are caused by a Clutch malfunction if the machine errors out with dC or UC unbalance error codes during the spin cycle. If your wash tub is banging around during a Spin Cycle and the TDS and Control board are working as designed the Control Board will shut the machine down with an unbalance error code dC or UC.

If the machine model is a FAV6800A LED console or a FAV9800A LCD console version it can be fixed with basic hand tools and some DIY effort. If you call in a repair service you are looking at $300 to $400 ballpark if they have a clue of how to troubleshoot the issue. If you DIY cost could be $0 if you have a can of WD-40 around a dab of lithium bearing grease to $75 ball park for a Clutch Pulley replacement.

See this post Clutch Fix and if you want to DIY and save/extend the service life of your 1$K machine.

Maytag neptune FAV6800AWW top load washer gets to 32 minutes left and goes no further. It starts to cycle for about 5 seconds and stops for about 35 seconds... over and over and over

Is the machine in Spin Cycle when this is happening? What part of the washer selected cycle does the Cycle Status LED say the machine cycle is in.
If it’s in the Spin Cycle I think you have a clutch issue. Do you take any error codes to the LED console display such as dC or uC?
If you stop the machine in that cycle and do a Spin Only cycle will it complete?
Do you want to DIY the fix? Let me know and I will try to help…..Rich

Wont Finish Spinning stops and Flashed DC

If the machine type is a FAV6800A/FAV9800A see this Clutch repair post if you want to DIY. You will find links to the Service Manual and parts info if needed.

You can check out the TDS but I would go right to the Clutch repair post if the machine shuts down in with a error code dC or uC.

That means the TDS is producing analog voltage swings +3.5VDC to 0VDC to the input of the Control Board Conn_P3 pins 10 and 11. Those DC voltage swings are at the design limit of max Wash Tub movement and the Control Board shuts the Spin Cycle down……..so thebTDS is working as designed.

The machine will make several attempts to redistribute the load before error code generation failing with dC or uC error codes.

Post back if you have questions any DIY'er with basic skill sets can do the Cluch maintenance/repair.....Rich

I have an error code uc in the spin cycle what could be causing the problem?

uC = a continuous unbalance condition of the wash load.

Because you are posting in the Fixya Neptune FAV6800AW Top Load Washer forum I’m going to assume your machine type is a FAV6800A or FAV9800A.

For those machine types I feel you are experiencing a clutch malfunction. Can you confirm the machine model number and let me know if you want to try a DIY repair. You only need basic hand tools and skill sets to repair. See this post for what is involved and this a most recent post of a forum members repair for a dC error code condition in Spin Cycle which related to the uC error code in Spin Cycle.

My 88 year old mother has the Neptune TL. There is a problem during washing cycles regarding imbalances with the machine. She does not have many clothes to wash and when there is a small amount the cycle...

Is the machine a FAV6800A or FAV9800A?

Are there unbalance codes to the display such as dC or uC?

If you can confirm the model number and what error codes to the LED display. I own the FAV6800A and can help with all issues.

Maytag neptune tl makes grinding sound and stops at 33 minutes in normal mode and at 24 minutes in quick wash mode

Hello djlampl,

With the lowest spin cycle setting I enter spin cycle in Quick Wash around the 21 minute mark. But first question is do you hear the grinding noise with the tumblers rotating during the wash/agitate cycle?

If you start a spin only cycle do you hear the grinding noise?

Does the washer error code out with an error code to the display? Codes such as dC, uC, Lr?, I assume the machine type is a FAV6800AW is that correct?

Any additional info will help in troubleshooting…..Rich

Assuming the machine type is a FAV6800A/FAV9800A here are some handy links;

Neptune TL, stops at the 11 minutes to end and will not go past, I have to shut off, hit spin cycle to finish load

Hello krabby64

Is your FAV6800AW or FAV9800AW failing with error codes dc or UC or both to the Console display? If you are I believe you are experiencing a clutch malfunction with your machine. Take a look at this post and see if your problem is similar.

If you have error codes to the display when the machine fails in the last 11 minutes (I believe start od spin cycle) can you let us know what those error codes are?

Error code of "dc" on my TL Maytag Neptune

If your machine is FAV6800AW or FAV9800AW the dc/UC errors are caused by a clutch malfunction. Your machine is shutting down with those errors so your Tub Displacement Sensor is working as designed.

Fix the Clutch malfunction and you can wash a single sock or a load of blue jeans and you will not take the dc or UC unbalance errors. See this post for the fix.

Post back if you have questions or need help.
