Will not turn on. No response at all. No noise, click, lights, nothing. The fuse in the back next to the plug is OK. Doesn't work with remote or manual power switch. Worked one minute and the next...dead (so I'm told). It is as if it were unplugged.

-   Mine is did the exact same thing two days ago. I also took the back off and looked at the fuse. The fuse is fine. I didn't mess with it anymore after that. I would just like to know if this sounds fixable or would I be better off just buying a new tv.

-   Same problem on my 94 KV-27TW78...I had a power surge and had an outlet blow and even though the set was on a surge protector it will now not come on as is unplugged. I checked the bus as well and it looks to be in working order. Any suggestions on where I would find a free service manual for this model or advise on how to check the power supply?

as set is dead
the problem is in power supply or horizontal section.
though it is a simple &less time taking.
but if you have no TV repair experience, or any experience tracing circuit flow with a schematic, call in a tech to assist you with this repair. This tv set is not the place to be experiementing inside of. You probably have bad capacitors and transistors in the power supply or the sweep power supply.
