Buy a cordless phone that has caller ID and if you don't already have caller ID service you need to order it from your phone company.Most every new cordless phone has caller ID

I know it seems like an obvious thing but did you make sure that you have caller ID on the line from your telco provider?

Any Caller Id phone bought in USA will not show the id as the Caller id format in USA is FSK and in India it is DTMF. You need a caller id converter from DTMF to FSK. It is available online on www.ebay.in Just type DTMF to FSK converter and the item will be displayed. Right now it is avilable only with a seller in Bangalore and the price is Rs.589/- per piece. I bought it and it is working fine.

I FIXED IT!!!  YIPEEE!!

What I did was UNPLUG the base's power unit from the wall... waiting about one minute, and plugged it back in.  That caused it to "reboot" the entire system, and the CID now shows itself.

Solved this myself simply by scrolling through all the Caller ID entries from recent calls . . .

They all have talking caller id on the phones themselves
