Press stop and keep hold of the stop button while you eject the dvd, it worked for me, i played around with it and found pressing stop and holding it while ejecting works

I just did this... Thanks to an answer that I saw somewhere else!!!!!
I have a Sanyo DVW-7200 DVD/VCR combo and my 3 year old som pushed some buttons on the remote control and the progressive scan light came on... since he did it, I had no idea where to start! LOL
Anyway, go to your DVD player, make sure the tv is on the correct channel for watching DVDs (to make sure you can see when there is a change)and the DVD player is in DVD mode.
On the front of your DVD player, press and hold the play button. Count to 10. When I got to 8 the light went off and the screen returned to normal!!
Good luck :)

Thanks so much for the help. My bf was messing with it and got it stuck - and I can't say it was a 3 y/o. LOL. We even called Best Buy and they referred us to the internet. But, after your hint we got it off. Thanks much. Just for curiosity - what the heck is the progressive scan mode for anyways??????????????

How to get it off progressive scan mode

As with Goldstar and some JVC machines, the way to get progressive scan OFF is to do this:

with the unit on, but no discs inserted, on the front panel (not the remote) press and hold STOP button for 10 seconds, then release. This should revert the unit's video output back to normal interlace and switch progressive off. I hope this works for you.

SD-K530SU - Turning Off Progressive Scan Mode

Once the setting for Progressive Scan output is entered,
an image will only be visible on a Progressive Scan compatible
TV or monitor. If you set Progressive Scan to On in
error, you must reset the unit. Pointing the remote at the
player, press the STOP (x) button to stop any disc that is
playing. Next, press the STOP (x) button again and hold it
for five seconds before releasing it. The video output will
be restored to the standard setting, and a picture will once
again be visible on a conventional analog TV or monitor.

GoldStar DVD/VCR-progressive scan mode problem...``

Remove any DVDs from the disc player. You should be in Blue Screen mode on the TV...If it says "Progressive Scan Mode" ....make sure there is no DVD in it...close the disc changer and push and hold the "Stop" Button on the player, not the remote, for 5 seconds or longer. This has been proven to work every time!!!

GOLDSTAR DVD/VIDEO PLAYER

Remove any discs from the unit. Make sure your tv is on the blue screen. It should say "Progressive Scan Mode"....After removing the disc(s) from the disc changer, close the changer, press and hold the stop button on the unit, not the remote, for 5 seconds or more and it will reset to normal playing mode. Progressive Scan is typically only for TVs that use Progressive Scan....most normal TVs do not use progressive scan mode. Hope this helps...It worked for me!!!!

Turn off progressive scan mode

If you set progressive scant On by accident, you must reset the unit. Remove any disc from the unit and close the disc tray. See that "disc" is displayed on the display window. Now press STOP and hold it for more than 5 seconds before releasing it. The video output will be restored to the standard setting and picture will once again be visible on a conventional analog TV or monitor.
