Problems with control Panel dell inspiron6400

Hi all.I hv a dell inspiron6400 with a processor Dual-Core Processor T2060(1.6GHz/533MHz/1MB),1G of memory. 80G of Hardrive and running on windows Vista home premium. I am having problems with opening my Control Panel. it simple takes too much time to load and most of the time if i do anything.....while it loads,it simply freezes....the solution is to close it through task manager...I am able to get it to work after may be 2 or 3 trials.....which sucks.I have deactivated lots of stuff in vista(in fact my vista looks like SP)...... so i have the most of my memory but still not working with control panel.....I feel this PC should be cool with handling Control Panel. Any way around this problems would be appreciated...........thank you. Nimo

Best cpu upgrade

The Gateway MX8738 Notebook PC uses an Intel Pentium Dual Core Mobile T2060 processor.

{ Look under Specifications, and Components }

Yonah Core based.
Built on the 65 NanoMeter technology. (65nm)

Front Side Bus frequency rate is 533MHz. (FSB 'speed' = 533MHz)
Voltage range it can operate on is from .0762 Volts DC to 1.30 Volts DC

Uses the Socket M processor socket,

The motherboard chipset is an Intel 943GML for the Northbridge chip, and an Intel 82801GBM for the Southbridge chip.
(The Southbridge part number is Intel 82801GBM. It is also referred to as ICH7-M.
Also scroll down to the heading - Southbridge 9XX and 3/4 Series Chipsets. ICH7-M ),

Bookmark the above chart, I'll be referring back to it.

This is a motherboard diagram for the technology used for your motherboard, in the Gateway MX8738 Notebook PC,

The motherboard chipset technology used in your laptop is a Northbridge chip, and a Southbridge chip.
(Does not apply to motherboards that support the Intel Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, and Core i9 processors)

The Northbridge chip handles the faster capabilities of a computer.
Supports the Processor, Ram Memory, and High-speed graphics.

[ High-speed graphics being AGP and PCI-Express.
Does Not apply to anything connected to the PCI bus, or Integrated Graphics.
These are slower processes of a computer, and are handled by the Southbridge chip ]

The Southbridge chip handles the slower capabilities of a computer;
Anything to do with the IDE bus, SATA bus, USB bus, Ethernet, and Audio. (Sound)

Therefore you want to look first of all at what processor socket it has, what processor was already installed, and what the Northbridge chip is.

1) Socket M processor socket.
Your replacement processor has to fit in a Socket M processor socket.

2) You know that your BIOS supports an Intel Dual Core processor, and the Yonah Core technology.
The replacement processor has to have a 533MegaHertz Front Side Bus. (533MHz FSB)
Has to operate with .0762 to 1.30 Volts (DC)

3) The Northbridge chip is an Intel 943GML.
Looking at the chart you can see this Northbridge chip will support;

A) Celeron M (Eeech!)
B) Core Solo (Bleech!)
C) Pentium Dual Core

In the list the Pentium Dual Core is the best option.
{ The Celeron M has HALF of the L2 cache that a comparable Pentium M would have.
The Core Solo is just a glorified Pentium 4. It's a Single core processor }

Has to be a mobile Pentium Dual Core that uses a 533MHz FSB.

Based on the Voltage, FSB, and processor socket used (Socket M), the Intel Pentium Dual Core
model T2130, is the best processor your motherboard will support.

What are we talking about here?
You would be going from a processor that operates at a maximum frequency rate of 1.60GigaHertz, to a processor that operates at a maximum frequency rate ('Speed') of 1.87GHz.

Not enough of a performance boost to waste your hard earned money, or time on, IMHO.

I have Inspiron 6400 Dual-Core Processor T2060(1.6GHz/533MHz/1MB) can I upgrade process only with Intel Core 2 Duo T7250 2.0GHz 2MB 800 CPU SLA49

The Inspiron 6400 was offered with a choice of three Intel Core 2 Duo Processors; the T5600, T7200, and T7400. The T5600 offered 1.83Ghz, with a 2MB L2 Cache. The T7200 offered 2Ghz, and the T7400 offered 2.16GHz of processing speed. Both the T7200 and the T7400 featured a 4MB cache.
I'm sure the T7200 will work, likely the T7250 but no guarantee

I would like to upgrade my Acer Aspire 4315 PC Notebook it has celeron processor 1.73ghz 533mhz fsb 2.53gb ram running on win xp pro what dual core processor can this laptop take?

Well most modern laptops cannot not be upgraded in this manner because the processors are hard soldered on the motherboards. Even if you have a removable type processor the newer dual cores will not be compatible with your type of motherboard.

Hi all i have a little question about CPU IN A9RP

if it will fit in the cpu slot, you can. But beware all chips have different number of prongs and only the chipsets that fit the number your slot has labeled on it. You have to some reasearch.

Asus A9Rp CPU

It supports the 1.86Ghz dual core so I would assume it also supports the 1.73

Dual Processors for Toshiba Satellite A205-S5000 533Mhz FSB

you got a cheap laptop. maybe from walmart or some other store that was selling it for about $400. It doesn't have a processor that you can switch out. I'm sure it's horribly slow for Visa, so my advise would be to sell it and get something with a dual core.

Your computer has one of these options:
spacer.gif level2_arrow.gif Intel® Celeron® Processor 560
(1MB L2 cache, 2.13GHz, 533MHz FSB)
Intel® Celeron® Processor 550
(1MB L2 cache, 2.0GHz, 533MHz FSB)
Intel® Celeron® Processor 540
(1MB L2 cache, 1.86GHz, 533MHz FS
Intel® Celeron® Dual-Core Processor E1400
(512KB shared L2 Cache, 2.0GHz, 800MHz FSB)
Intel® Celeron® Dual-Core Processor T1400
(512KB shared L2 Cache, 1.73GHz, 533MHz FSB) spacer.gif

Check the features with Acer first and see if your motherboard model support that speed processor.

From zthai

intel celeron M(mobile)530 (class) the 530 denotes the type of processor configuration, not a bus speed or anything else.The 64Bit architecture uses 530,523,and 520.

Level 2 cache memory is what is on the processor. 1Mb cache memory on a mobile processor allows the chip to process info quicker.

cache memory has nothing to do with ram memory except as transfer rate.

the laptop will support 2gig ram modules X 2 for 4gig total.
it can use speed of 667mhz max or the 533mhz clock speed.

You can use either clock speed and any sets of 2X512mb, 2X1024mb, or 2X2048mb just for best results keep the size the same and the speed the same...both at 533 or 667...both at 512mb, 1gig, 2gig,
