Cannot engage RESET Button on plug to power the 220v AC unit

My 15000 BTU Whirlpool wall AC has a RESET button which will not stay depressed. Accordingly I'm unable to keep power to the AC unit. I found that the 220v line has power but do not know if I need to test voltage for a voltage drop maybe causing the RESET button on the AC plug to fail in effect fails to remain depressed. This is disallows me from being able to start up my AC. Please help. Thanks

Turn breaker off...Then check the wall mount screws and make sure everythings tight..Also unplug other lights..or whats ever plugged in on that line. The plugs tripping because of voltage dip.Usually when compressor kicks on. You can run a seperate line to the ac. That will surely work...

Why does the reset button on my air conditioner keep popping out when i plug it in

You are tripping that outlet's breaker. Either too much is on that breaker and circuit or that circuit is not big enough, enough current to power that unit.

WILL A TRACE 2012 INVERTER RUN A 15000 BTU RV AIR CONDITIONER

According to specs, they will take a 44 amp AC power surge. Obviously number and type of batteries as well as battery condition , etc, plugged in, not plugged in to outside hydro, or generator all come in to play here, but a 15,000 BTU roof AC will only draw, 15-17Amps AC when compressor kicking in, ( or less on some new models) and should level out at 12 -13 amp draw after. As well, this will depend on proper wiring to and from main panel as well as AC unit, and incoming voltage, AC unit condition ( cleaned and maintained properly) etc.

AC unit LWHD 1800R won't turn on & test/reset does not respond.

Reverse the wires in the receptacle ,not the ground, this is most likely the problem the way the circuit is set up in the ac unit.Let me know if this helps.

For a/c unit, is there an adapter available or do I need a new plug cord

Actually you should buy and install an AC wall outlet. An AC uses more amperage than most any other appliance due to the fact it has 2 motors the compressor and the blower / fan motor. An AC wall plug has larger terminals so that the plug does not ever heat. Changing the cord to a different and smaller terminal plug is a bad choice due to the danger of overheating the wall outlet terminals. You can buy the AC horizontal terminal outlets at any hardware store. Unless you have a 110V AC unit you will also have to run a 220V #10 Romex (3 wire) with ground to the outlet to be in code.. An AC unit 1 HP (10,000) BTU or larger requires over 15 Amps for start up. Those that are 20,000 BTU or larger obviously require more than 15 amps as a power source.
