Load problem and error message

My cd player doesnt have a cd stuck in it, but it wont accept any cds in it, and if i press the eject button, it just whirs and makes noise like there is a cd in it, and says "load". then it just says "error". the only way it will accept a cd in it is if i were to push eject first and then it would suck in the cd, but im afraid it will get stuck so i dont. any ideas?

Re: Load problem and error message

Did you try to reset it? Look for a small button that only be press with a toothpicker or something that small. Another way to reset is to disconnect the battery. Goodluck.

I had the same problem, CD not accepted by unit and pressing source button to select CD player causes unit to display reset.
Using reset button just causes unit to 'whir' for a while, problem is not solved. Firstly with unit switched off, and the ignition off I inserted a CD using some gentle force, I then inserted a second CD, forcing it in over the top of the first. Next I pressed and held the reset button for a short time before releasing it. Both CDs were ejected, when the unit had stopped I took the CDs out, replaced the front panel and turned on the ignition, The unit will now accept CDs and eject them O.K.

(This did take two attempts to get right). Seems to reset the eject status of the CD player.

You need to visit Alpines' site to download the owner's manual for your unit. In the mean time here is some info from the troubleshooting guide for your error code.

• Mechanism error.
1. Press the "eject" button and eject the CD.
If not ejecting, consult your Alpine dealer.
2. When the error indication remains after ejecting,
press the "eject" button again.
If the error indication still does not turn off after
pressing the "eject" button for a few times, consult your
Alpine dealer.
When the "- - - E" is displayed:
In case that the disc cannot be ejected by pressing the "eject"
button, press the RESET switch (refer to page 4) and
press the "eject" button again.
If not ejecting, consult your Alpine dealer.

Good luck.
