My son deciced to try to fix his computer and he disconnected everything in the tower of a emachine t2825, i have no idea where anything goes, is there a way i can get a diagram or something to help me

General if it fits it in the right spot. With the acception of the power button and lights in the front.

Follow this guide link below(2nd link) and you should be fine. Its not really that big of a deal most likely he forgot to plug in the power button.(1st link) The mother board should be labeled right next to the correct pins but it is really tiny.,518-14.html

When I turn My Computer on all that happens is I hear the fans on the back running really loud and a light on the back flashes green. The light on the on button on front doesn't even come on, but I know...

One bad/faulty lead can cause a computer with lots of problems
replace all the leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions + IDE,SATA the ones that attach from your motherboard to hard drive
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they are probably old and faulty ?
hope this helps

My computer sarts automatically when I want to shut down

it seems that your computer restart when you attempt to shut down. this problem due to short in power button in the cabinet. open the right side of the cabinet.most probably there will be red&white twisted thin wire from front panel for power, the colour may vary manufacture to carfull with it. see at left bottom of your dell PC mother board the wire will lead to two pin specifying power, restart, hdd etc.. short it with your screw driver. if system turn on then it is problem with switch replace it or if it not work then reboot the os.

Emachine D2880-No Power

Probably yes, the poiwer-source may be delivering "dirty" power (happens also when using a back-up generator, as in the power in the building goes out, or when used in an old RV, and the back-up kicks in) <--- is a safety feature to protect the CPU. Try also a different powerstrip, or head off to the neighbors and try their plug before swapping out the power supply.

In the end, you may wish purchase an inexpensive clone-tower, swap out the HD and processor (if you are spending too much time and money trying to band-aid the old one)

Hope this helps!

My computer turns off totally without warning

u never mention in your problem what pc are u using, so i assume it as any other pc.and you never mentioned any halted errors occur...please state it the next time you ask for help please so we can direct you to some solutions that would probably lead you to short time trouble...first thing you have to do is to disconnect all drives, like the cdrom and the floppy drives if you have one...except the hard drive or the hard disk..then if this will work you have a power supply failure...something wrong inside you power is unable to supply the right load to make everything inside your computer it goes off...or trip off...then if you still have encountered thesame problem after trying the first step...try reprogramming your computer..install a new operating system...if it doesnt work..change the mother board....tnx

Emachines problem... PSU works but comp doesnt turn on

Hi, Did you just add the second CD? If you did you may need the driver for the mother board? Make sure the power cord for the cd has voltage plug it into the DVD drive also check the cable make sure red stripe is on the correct side of drive. You can download the driver at User guide is there as well. The start button has a pair of wires with a small pin connector on it. This will connect to the motherboard if there is a 3 pin set you might try moving to the other pin. The new power supply also has to provide a start voltage? Your power supply may not be compatible or it may put the voltage on the third pin.

New Problem

The manual you need will be on the board manufacturers web page, howevr I will bet you have the case power switch and perhaps the reset switch on the wrong pins on the mother board. To check this, remove the switch leads from the mother board, then use a small screw driver and bridge the pins on the mother board a pair at a time. All of these leads plug on to the board in a line and not across the two lines of pins. when you get the mother board to fire up by this method geet a torch and look closely alongside the pins you will see the letters PWR SW or RS SW. It does not matter what polarity these two sets of leads are plugged onto both will work. The LED lights on the case front will only work if the polarity is correct but it will not do any harm if they are backwords. On the board you should se two sets of pins marked HDD and PWR these are the led light pins you will know you have them right when the usual red and green lights are working at the front of your tower.
