Hi, I just moved my washer dryer and it no longer spins, the motor does not come on. Is there way to test motor to be sure something is wrong with it.

Re: MY WD64 does not spin

First see if there is power in your wall socket; then check your washer plug, or plug fuse, wires.......

Towels come out soaking wet, too wet to put in dryer. When placed back in dryer, noticed the spin cyle runs slowly, never spinning fast. The drum itself isn't solid, but oscillates when spinning.

The clothes are wet after spinning When the clothes are wet at the end of a cycle, check these: Motor coupler Spin cycle Siphoning Water-inlet valve Motor coupler To test the motor coupler, re-start the washer in its spin cycle. Let the machine run for a minute, and then open the lid and notice whether the tub is spinning: If it's spinning when you lift the lid, the coupler is fine. If it isn't spinning--and your machine was produced by Whirlpool®--you may have a broken coupler. Many Whirlpool-made washers use a small, relatively inexpensive device called a motor coupling. This plastic-and-rubber component is mounted to the shaft of the motor on one side, and to the transmission on the other. Over time, the coupler wears out and fails. When that happens, you need to replace it completely. Spin cycle If the washer doesn't reach its proper spin speed, the clothes may be too wet at the end of a cycle. Check to be sure the load is properly balanced and run a spin cycle again. If the clothes are still wet, you may have a worn or loose belt (Maytag®), a worn clutch (GE®/Hotpoint®), or a worn motor pulley or tub bearing. Replace the applicable component. Alternatively, there could be clothes caught between the inner and outer tubs. Read the "It spins but won't pump" section of the "It won't drain" section. Also, there could be other things that cause friction on the drive train. Seek the assistance of a qualified appliance repair technician. Siphoning If the water that pumps from the machine goes right back into the machine after the spin cycle, it may be because your washer is siphoning the water from a laundry tub with a slow drain, back into the washer. Try to improve the draining of the laundry tub. (Is there something stuck in the drain?) Also, be sure the drain hose doesn't reach more than about 4 inches into the laundry tub. If it does, cut off the excess. Water-inlet valve Water-inlet valves eventually fail. One problem that may develop with a water-inlet valve is that it can no longer completely shut off when the electricity is turned off to it. Then, the valve may leak and drip water into the clothes tub--you may notice that your washer has water in it when you haven't used it for a few days. To fix this, replace the valve.

Rattle or leaking condensor on Hotpoint WD64

This website has been good to me so I thought I'd post back!

A common problem with the WD64 washer dryer is the condensor working itself loose from the heater box on the top of the machine. This will result in terrifying banging on spin and, if left, screws and rubber seals appearing under the machine. If left longer, as it was with my own, the machine will leak from the condensor to backplate joint at the back of the machine.

The problem is caused by poor fixings at the condensor (the white plastic piece) to the heater (the silver box at the top of the machine). The solution is to remove the condensor, clean it and refit it with new more robust fixings. Hotpoint provide their workmen with a kit of heavy duty bolts, but I did it with a few loose bolts I had. Save all rubber parts as they are riduculously expensive to buy. I had to by the o-ring from condensor to drum backplate and could only get 5 at silly money. If anybody wants one at a good price I'm kolleykibber on ebay.

Dryer does not work drum rotates but does not dry on hotpoint aquarius washer dryer model wd64. all other functions operate ok

Probably open circuit heater element, or thermostat/s
Remove top cover, and you will see the heater manifold on the top of the drum.
It is a long aluminium box.
The element and stats are located here..
You will need a meter to test the appropiate components for continuity.
Please rate my solution.

Hotpoint wd64 front load washer-dryer filter

if your hotpoint has no obvious filter its likely to be the type that has the filter built into the main exit hose from the drum to the pump. Clearing these is not as easy.Pull machine out and unplug it, on the rear there is a panel at the bottom which when removed you will see the pump where the exit hose attaches. From the pump to the drum is normally a wider black pipe and this contains the filter. removal of the pipe from the bottom of the drum is normally a jubilie clip but some have plastic clips that are easy to break. once you have dropped the pipe from the drum ( water goes everywhere ) you can then remove the white filter assembly which is like a shuttle **** with ping pong ball in it. clean out fully and make sure its all back together as before.

Won'i\t spin or agitate. was working fine-went

if agitator movement is weak or moves in only one direction check the following:

  • Inspect the agitator
  • Inspect the motor coupler
  • Inspect the drive belt(belt drive only)
  • Inspect under the washer for soot (clutch)
  • Test the motor
  • Inspect the pulley
  • Test the transmission
  • Inspect the pump coupling
If drum does not spin check this:

  • Test the lid switch
  • Test the timer control
  • Test the centrifugal switch
  • Test the water level switch
  • Inspect the motor coupler
  • Inspect the drive belt (belt drive only)
  • Inspect under the washer for soot (clutch)
  • Test the motor
  • Inspect the pulley
  • Test the transmission

Good luck !!!

Sure if one of the windings in the motor is bad or on the board.  There should be a tech sheet behind the washers bottom access panel that tells you how to test the motor and board.
