How to install web camera (logotech 5.4.1) without CD

Depending on which operating system you are running, it is possible to install without the CD. Generally Windows Vista and Windows 7 are plug and play, which means you can plug the camera in and Windows will apply a generic driver to it, making it functional but not as functional as if you had installed with the disk. Example, you would not be able to use the camera software as it would not be installed. Check the manufacturer's website and see if there is a newer software for you version of Windows. You can download it free. The site will also tell you if the camera is compatible with your current operating system, which, unfortunately, many are not with Windows 7.

My camera just shows a black screen

Software or hardware problem ?
Test your hardware here by clicking on "allow" in the top window and seeing if your webcam works in the left panel
http://www.testmycam.com/
If it works there you know you have a software problem
Solutions
1) go to your Device Manager - expand the "Imaging", file update your driver by right clicking the webcam text and select update - take the internet option when prompted
or
2) You can uninstall the webcam program and run the CD or go to the manufacturer's support website and download from there.
or
3) If your OS recognises new hardware - uninstall the webcam software - plug the webcam in and let it find and install the software.

I plug my camera into the usb to load pictures to my computer but nothing at all loads.... isnt something supposed to pop up? i have the polaroid i633

Make sure you have installed the software/drivers for the polaroid i633.
Many cameras require you have software installed on the computer hard drive in order to detect that camera.
If you do not have the software/cd, then you should be able to find all you need at the polaroid website.

Many other cameras of recent times do not need special software, and will see the camera storage as a hard drive.

HPSC1610 all in one

Hi,

Im very sure that you encountered that message when trying to scaning using the HP Director / HP solution center. Here are the steps that i want you to do inorder to solve the issue.

1. Insert the CD that you used to install the Software.
2. The Window for installation will pop-up, CLICK ON UNINSTALL. (note: make sure that you unplug the usb cable from the back of your computer before uninstalling the SOftware).
3. When done, restart your computer.
4. Re-insert the CD and Click on INSTALL.

The reason why you encounter such problem might have something to do with the corrupted components of the Software installed in your pc.

Thank you so much.

Same problem with webcam as before / SPC 900NC PC / no cd-only the webcam

Installation of the webcam was very easy. To begin you install the software, then plug in the camera. My Windows XP test machine recognized the SPC 900NC right away and had no problems capturing video.
