Question about Sony PlayStation 2 (PS2) Console
I have a PS2 and it takes numerous tries to get discs to load. When it finally "reads" the disc, it goes to the browser screen and eventually the disc will appear forloading. I have not tried to disassemble the machine to clean. Any advice would be great.
Probably a problem with the dvd drive itself. Maybe a dirty drive or misaligned laser. Try picking up an air duster can from your local store. Open up the dvd drive and spray a ton of air inside. That may help. Electronics stores also sell cd /dvd drive cleaning kits as well for usually under $10. You put a special cleaning disc in and just run your device.
