Burnt components on circuit board

I was working on replacing the convergence ic's on my set, and i noticed that there were some other burnt components. They are over near the power supply. there are three components: D402, R413, C407S. Can anyone tell me what is supposed to be there. I cant find any info as to what pats I should replace with???????

Yeah I Have the same problem they fried out and Im off to the local electronic store to see if they have any replacements for it or alternatives. Please coment if you do find anything.

pretty certain I have a blown convergence IC. Are there step by step instructions anywhere? I'm not too shabby with a soldering iron.

Ok the part numbers... http://www.onlinecomponents.com/ remember some components have numbers eg: CS42D3K4H when all you actually need is the 3k4 which is a resistor. look on the PCB there should be a company name or serial number try searching that with the parts number. good luck.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

Yes,but the front that not what u wanted to be open. The back of the tv that what u wanted to be open. That where the tv convergence board is,that the board require reparing.Yes,if U have all the tools and can do basic soldering works too like take out desoldering ICS take it out of a circuit board and resoldering ICS on put in onto a circuit board and also desoldering/resodering like take out small components parts and replace with new small components parts onto a circuit board?Yes?The tv convergence board must require replaces like 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all of it resistors too.To fixed the tv convergence board to solved the tv convergence pictures problems.Tries websites like Tvrpairworld.com,Tvrepairkits.com to buy a whole complete convegence kit belong to ur tv make and model the kit also will have a dvd disc of tutoring job too.Or tries tvs shops will cost u like $300-350 for parts and labors.

How to install a convergence kit in R61WH76 chassis no. itc222a

That model doesnt have the normal convergence components that nost other sets have. There are no convergence ICs the convergence is actually affected by three boards within that chassis it can be deflection board related, Convergence power board or the convergence amp board. Based on your TVs setup menu diagnosis will determine wether a component needs replacement or wether a circuit board will need replacement.

We have sound but no picture at all... work the night before, next morning, nothing.

Check the Pico fuses fromthe power supply to the main board, the convergence board. trace using the power output from the power supply. if you notice any suspected components visibly showing out a fault like a capacitor or a burnt resistor, check it out and replace.
Check for possible dry solder joints or failure of the IC.
Remove plug off while checking and test by tapping board for any loose connection.

It could be that this time the convergence module went. I have replaced many convergence ICs and don't believe I have ever had any go out within 6 months. That does not mean that they can't. Remove the leads from the convergence area to isolate the ICs as you said you were told. Now remove the digital convergence board which should be nearby and probably will be in a metal box for noise protection. If you can I would unsolder the convergence ICs to totally take them out of the circuit and just in case one or both shorted out. Once everything I talked about has be removed try the unit. If your problem is in the convergence only your set should work but have an ugly picture. Let me know what you find and we will go from there.

I purchased the convergence chips for Samsung PCL5415RX/XAA TV. Do I need to remove the entire sub deflection board to R&R them?

Yes, however I would be surprised if changing the two Ics will repair the set, as that chassis should always have the sub-deflection board replaced since most of the resistors will be stressed. Thats why samsung changed the later chassis's by removing the convergence circuits from the deflection board as its almost 98% certain that the deflection board will need replacement when the ICs fail with those chassis designs unless every component in the convergence circuit is replaced which will cost more than the deflection boards do. But you may get lucky but if the ICs dont cure the problem you will need a new deflection board

Burnt resistors

Depending on where you bought the ICs you could have fried the new ICs when powering it up with burnt resistors as the green is controled by both ICs one IC controling the horizontal green Convergence and the other IC controling the vertical green convergence. Have you checked all the convergence resistors out of circuit?

Hitachi Model 43FDX20B Pink and Green Colors only

The convergence IC's you speak of are always mounted side by side and use the same #'s and are mounted on big metal heat sinks . Most start with STK392-??? . Also you may have bad resistors that are discolored and need changed as well . Some sets are protected by fuses but don't look like the typical glass fuses. They are pico fuse which could be green or yellow in color but look like resistors but do not have the color bands . Replacing the board could require a total convergence alignment. If you decide to take to a shop your avg. cost could be $250 to $300. If you do it yourself IC's and resistors or fuse would run around $50 to $70 bucks . Don't by the $9.95 IC's as they do not hold up as well . They should cost $20 to $25 apiece . Good luck

Convergence IC's are at locations IK04 and IK05. There are some resistors that will be burnt up on the board as well. Replacement IC's are stk392-150, and are easily purchased, even off ebay. For the resistors you may have to get the location numbers and research the value. If you need the resistor values you can email me and I will get you the info.

Replaced STK ICs but image is all distorted

Usaly when this happens the little fuses also fry they are 5 amp and located neer the ic's and at the bottom right of each ic, also they are green and look like a restor could check and see if they are open and then check all the big resistor to see if any of those show open, other than that I will paste my standard fix for this set
Everybody here seems to have basically the same problem so I will write a general fix for these Samsungs. First what you got is known as Convergence failure, A Ic or resistor, fuse or some other component has failed in the convergence circuit. So finding the service menu and trying to align the colors or spinning magnets on the CRT’s or a real bad idea of tipping a CRT or mirror would be the equitant of ripping the transmission out of your car because it had a flat tire. When the convergence fails no adjustment will bring it back, and if you do one of these stupid things then you have two problems. Now most of these Samsungs have an easily replicable board that all the convergence amplifiers are on. This can be found by removing the back and seeing if there is a board about 9 X 5 inches big and mounted to the CRT mounts, there will be 5 connector to this board. Now if your set does not have this board and instead has the two convergence Ic’s (these are about the size of a playing card and have the numbers STK392-040 on them) mount down on a board below and to the right ( this is known as the deflection board) this repair will not work for you. Instead you will need to component level repair the convergence circuit. But if you do have this separate convergence board the repair is fairly straight forward. Go to www.vancebaldwin.com or some other supplier and order BP95-00142E this is the convergence board. This board has been crossed several times through the years but this is the current version. Now once you get this board simply replace it making sure to get al the connector back in there original spot. The fire up the set and run Flash focus and for about 95% this will fix the set
