Question about Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX8 Digital Camera

2 Answers

DMC-FX8 My camera is stuck at zoom-in. It basically disables everything else. Is there a way to fix it or even reset it? I tried the 'hold shoot button and power up" but that does not do anything. It does not reset it. Thank you all in advance

The camera dropped on the floor, while talking a picture. The lenses would not zoom in or out. The lenses were push in now they wont come out.

If the lens is jammed in the out position you can try holding the camera firmly and tapping/hitting it against your hand with the camera on. The lens should then retract. If this doesn't work or if you are afraid of dropping it (do it on your bed, that way it doesn't hit the floor if you _do_ drop it), you can drop it on a wood/firm surface from an inch or so up and it should retract the lens. This solution ONLY WORKS IF THE LENS IS JAMMED.

I have the same issue with my FX-01... doesn't appear to be a lens (or lens motor issue) more along the lines of something with the zoom toggle switch... any other ideas?

When i press the button down half way, the camera doesn't want to focus and will zoom in and out and not allow an image to be taken. What is wrong and is there anyway i can solve this issue?

The camera is trying to focus, but can't. If you're trying to shoot something very close you may need to back away from the object. Try focusing on something in the distance to see if you can get the camera to focus and shoot.

Reset the panasonic dmc-fx8 digital camera

hi, i'm not sure if it is a full reset, but it worked for me. i've an fx8. i had a problem 2 weeks ago. my objective didn't want to close when i switched the camera off. it remained open. when i switched the camera on again, the objetcive has closed and opened again, and the _Turn Off the Camera and Turn On again_ message appeared on the sisplay. and remained in open position after switching it off. i tried some button combination, like menu button on, and power the camera on. it didn't work, but the second was pressing the shotting button and holding it down while powering on the machine combination. an it worked, my camera did some kind of reset. it returned to the original position, and everithing is working since then. the time and other settings didn't changed. anyone knows other key combination?

FX8 all button frozen

I am not sure if this is a solution. but one time, i turned on my camera when the battery is really drained. usually (when it was broken) it will automatically zoom in. but that certain period when i turned it on, even before it can zoom in, the battery drained and the camera went off. i charged the battery and when i put it back and turned on the camera, it works fine. it is still working fine. good thing i didnt had the repair center fix it, because they charge really high price.

Lens stuck

It sound like a problem with the zooming mechanism (lens would not retract or extended) Press the power button on and hold it down while extending and twisting the telescopic zoom lens. It might fix your problem. In any case it could not make it worse Good luck!

Camera doesn't respond

Hey bro I have exactly the same problem, when i turn on the damn thing it just zooms right out and just keeps scrolling through the options. I think that it has to be some sort of software problem, there must be a way to reset it!
