There is no need to format all the drives ... wat you have to do ... is ... update your avg with latest updates ... and have a full system scan ... and delete all the virus ... then have your .. c: formated ..

Why can't I use MP3rocket on my windows 8 64-bit laptop. The software keeps freezing up every time I try to use it

Are you sure the software is compatible with Windows 8 and 64-bit installations?
You could also check and make sure that you don't have the 32-bit version installed.

I have Mozilla Firefox as my default web browser.after running for a while, Firefox throws an exception "an unhandled win32 error has occurred" and something like that. when i click on the error...

hello ,
update your firefox to the latest version . stable version . dont go for Beta versions or RC versions . and then update your antivirus .
see now .
check you dont have any other security suites installed on to your system . any antispyware or antvirus set on real time scans . they might be interfering with each other .
and if still AVG is troubling , no need to panic , there are plenty of other tools also available to keep you safe .
you can install these add ons ( work better than AVG .... ) - WOT - McAfee Link Scanner -NoScript -ABP -Ghostery -Better Privacy.
hope it helps ...

open services.msc from run window and then find avgwdsvc.exe. right click and select properties then check the disabled checkbox. Apply and get out of services.msc. now try to install the new version of avg.

Action failed for file avgtdix.sys: starting service....

There is a known issue between AVG 8 and Anniversary Edition of Ad-Aware which gives exactly this error, so if you perhaps just got that ad-aware, uninstall it too before trying to reinstall AVG.

Then run the uninstall/cleanup util for Avast because the Windows Add/Remove isn't good for uninstalling antivirus programs. Then try reinstalling it again. If you downloaded the installation package, then it provides the uninstall option. Disable Ad-Aware's Adwatch first! Run the AVG installer. Choose the uninstall option and follow the wizard. When you get to the part to remove user settings, select it. Restart your computer then... Now reinstall AVG using the setup file you got and update it.
Restart Windows twice before you re-enable anything disabled earlier.

Should this not work and you get the same error, that means the original errornous installation is still not out of your system. Download the AVG remover from here:
Remove your AVG and reboot to make sure it is not there any more, and try installing again.

Let me know if the solution worked and if yes please rate me:)

AVG will not install on firefox

Delete AVG, then reinstall. During the installation process, it will ask if you want to install the part that allows AVG to run with Firefox, click OK or Yes (whatever the option). I run them now and had no problems with this installation procedure.

Installing norton360

NIS08 has a specific system requirement. has your system passed this?

in regards to everyones posts,

your issue is a fail installation and thus requires you get get rid of all the temp files in your %temp%,temp, prefetch folders.

to do this.

start>run>%temp%>delete everything here...
start>run>temp> delete all
somethings there are actives files(currently being used by other programs), so just restart your computer to delete this later.

when done doing this, you have a higher chance to have a successful installation.

everything is in the norton site including the removal tool for failed installations.

if for failed updates... download the intelligent updater.

if you have other questions.. post them here..
