Check in the Device Manager on the computer. With the device connected Right Click on My Computer and select Properties>Hardware Tab>Device Manager. If there are any errors (red or yellow) by the Sansa, right click on it and select un-install. Disconnect the device and after it restarts, re-connect. The drivers will re-install. If that is not the issue, try using a different USB port, preferably in the back. Or, change the device mode Settings>Mode or USB Mode and try connecting to PC. You can add to the question if you need more assistance. Best of Luck.

While switching on the mp3 player... it been hanging.... refresh database error

Reset the sansa by pressing on the reset on the device , this is usually a small pin hole through which an office pin can be put in and pressed.
Now connecct your player to the PC and scan for virus, copy out all the files and format, the reinstall safe files.
The player will work fine.

Refresh database (frozen )

Connect your mp3 player to your PC then turn it off by holding power button until it shuts off, switch the hold switch to HOLD then press and hold the REC button on the side until the mp3 player shows a black screen and your PC shows that it found a 16mb removable media, now download the file from the below link. Run it and it should fix your problem, but note that all your files will be erased.

"refresh database failed"

You have an error in the firmware. This is damage than is irreparable by any user of a mp3 player. Call the company, tell then that your firmware was corrupted and ask how you can "hard boot" back into a "Fresh copy" of your firmware. Problem solved! hope this helps!

Sansa e200 shows refresh database fail

Try emailing SanDisk technical support team at: support@sandisk.com And ask them for the Recovery Mode firmware upgrade (Also send them the problem the way you posted it here). They should send you a link to some firmware upgrade file. You could also try calling them at: 1-866-726-3475 but an email should be sufficient because, from what I remember, it is just a link to file that you need to download. I hope that helps...
