SOURCE: kenmore agitates doenst spin

There are 3 things that may be wrong.
The timer is keeping the transmission in neutral drain.
The clutch is slipping.
The basket drive block that supports the basket has failed.
Aimiel is correct that you will need to see what is happening during the spin to diagnose the problem. Please post the complete model number from the top under the lid and I will try to walk you through checking it.
Thanks/Mike

It sounds like your heating element has broken. There are several links provided on this site on how to replace it. You might want to take a look at davesrepair.com to purchase a new one. He has pretty good prices on the element.

You probably have a faulty heating coil, or thermostats.
If you plan to repair it yourself, remove the back of the machine, locate the air tube going from the blower to the drum. Normally inside of the air tube is where you will find the heating coil, and thermostats.
Check your heating coil with a continuity meter across the two terminals.
Good luck,
I hope this helps

It appears your timer/main controller/CCU has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question#$^&

I have a Maytag Dependable Care Quiet Plus II Heavy Duty dryer. The vent fan is loose on the shaft. What needs to be done to fix it?

Must replace it cause there is a flat side on the shaft and the blower wheel matches up to it and rounded out the plastic. Take off front panel and take out the screws around the wheel to get the metal plate out of the way then it either screws on or has a snap ring and a clamp to take off now wiggle the wheel to slide it off. Install new wheel and put back together.

Thumping/Screeching sound, MD:LDE8616ACE. Rollers? Idler Pulley?

Your description sounds like one or both of the rear drum supports (rollers) is bad. A quiet thumping is almost always present as the weld in the drum comes in contact with the drum supports. A binding support will squeal, and the thumping could be worse at that time. After running the dryer until the noises are present, once disassembled, you can tell if a support is bunding or rolling normally by spinning it by hand. The same goes for the idler pulley. Make sure power is disconnected from the unit befor attempting any repairs.

While the unit is disassembled for repair, make sure your your old cat is not inside.

My Maytag washer fill too slowly

There's a little screen at one end of the inlet hose that will clog up; remove that and clean it. Don't forget to reinstall it. You can buy a replacement at the hardware store; take the old one along, there are a lot of different sizes.
