Question about Sony KP-65WS500 65" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Double screen image

I have a sony KP65WS500 TV. All of a sudden there is a double image and a fuzzy hazy picture. Tried the focus button without much difference. It was repaired in the past for a bad red lamp. Another part was also replaced at the same time that had to do with focusing the image (name I can't recall). What do you think is going on?

I have a 43" Sony KP-FX432M91 projection TV. It is showing a double picture hence the picture is hazy. What can be done to sort it out ?

One of the selections in the TV setup menu has a selection called convergence. Under that selection chose digital quick focus and it should automatically align your colors. If that doesn't work there is also a selection that lets you align them manually.

Your convergence has failed and needs to be repaired. Once quick test is to goto your convergence menu and see if you can adjust red and blue. If not its has failed and needs to be fixed. You can call in a repair shop or you can get the parts and instructions from www.TvRepairKits.com and do the repair yourself. Its a fairly easy DIY fix.

My rca projection tv has blue and green images like a 3D picture would without your 3D glasses, a double vision image and no other colors

sounds like the sensors are out of focus and your red sensor isnt turning on. look in the back of the tv for a master reset button or in your menu screen some sort of "Flash focus" or "convergence". They will realign the 3 sensors.

The screen is showing a ghost or double picture

Does the picture look 3d? colors out of place and or skewed?

If it does, go into the customer menu with the Sony remote and select convergence----if red or blue are warped and will not move in some direction--you have a common problem---CONVERGENCE.

Confirm model number and tell me if it is 3D like picture.

I can if it is tell you what is needed to fix it--I am here to help people and I do this here for free.

POOR PICTURE QUALITY

The convergance IC's need to be replaced along with possibly a pico fuse in the same circuit.Theres a large heat sink with two IC's starts with a STK number, replace them and that should take care of it.

you'll have to take the back off the tv and on your right you'll see two black button on the flyback transformer one over the other the other the top button is for the focus you can bright or darken the image on your screen don't be afraid it will not bite as long as you don't touch nothing but the button with a phillips screwdriver and don't have the kids around when you are doing it

make sure there is no flower icon on bottom left corner of screen-very common on sony to hit macro button to turn on by accident and you will get blur-only for extreme closeup-hit flower button to turn off if on and let me know if that was the problem
