1. Reload the BIOS.
2. Go to Safe Mode.
3. Let the computer run by itself without opening up any programs.
4. Do an msconfig to disable all the start up programs except for the antivirus.

Bypass Windows Vista password

One of the cornerstones of Windows Vista is security. Vista comes with User Account Control (UAC) system, firewall protection against malware, spyware, phishing filter, automatic updates, and, of course, that the procedure for logging into your account and password. All this is a great security and gives you peace of mind knowing that your system is protected, surfing the Internet.
However, if you're the only one who ever used the Windows Vista system in your home? Have you ever wanted to do it so that you to bypass the logon Windows Vista, and get right to work? There is a way that this task with a hidden tool called the Advanced User Accounts Control Panel to run.
In this release, Windows Vista Report, I'll show you how to circumvent the access and use of additional user accounts in Control Panel, Windows Vista logon procedure and essentially configure Vista to automatically log on when you turn on the system.
Accessing the hidden tool To access the hidden Advanced User Accounts Control Panel, click the Start button, type “Control Userpasswords2′ in the Start Search box, as shown in Figure A, and press [Enter]. When you do, you’ll encounter a UAC dialog box and will need to respond accordingly.
Figure A 1_thumb.png To access the hidden Advanced User Accounts Control Panel, you’ll type Control Userpasswords2 in the Start Search box. In a moment, you’ll see the Advanced User Accounts Control Panel, as shown in Figure B. (As you can see, the dialog box is simply titled User Accounts.)
Figure B 2_thumb.png The dialog box for the Advanced User Accounts Control Panel is simply titled User Accounts. Configuring the automatic log on To configure the automatic log on, select your user name in the Users For This Computer list, if it isn’t already selected. Then clear the Users Must Enter A User Name And Password To Use This Computer check box. When you do so, your Advanced User Accounts Control Panel will look like the one in Figure C. To continue, click OK.
Figure C 3_thumb.png Once you clear the Users Must Enter A User Name And Password To Use This Computer check box, the Users For This Computer list becomes unavailable. As the last step in configuring the automatic log on, you’ll see the Automatically Log On dialog box, shown in Figure D, and will need to type your password in both the Password and Confirm Password text boxes. To complete the operation, click OK.
Figure D 4_thumb.png You’ll be prompted to type your password in the Automatically Log On dialog box. To test your Automatic log on, simply restart your computer. When you do, Windows Vista should automatically log you on.
What’s your take? Now that you know how to access the Advanced User Accounts Control Panel and enable the automatic log on feature, will you do so? Please drop by the Discussion Area and let us in on your thoughts.
Finally Solution
I usually used the cheapest and easy to use tools, especitally free trial: like Windows Password Recovery tool 3.0 to reset Windows Vista password.

How do I use a program ive just downloaded on this laptop

Usually the files you download for programmes are ".exe" or ".zip" files. In the case of ".exe" files they are either executable, in which case you need to double click on them and follow the instructions to install the programme, or they are self-extracting zip files where you again double click on the programme, it will ask you where you want the files expanded to, and once expanded you need to find the "Setup.exe" file and double click to install the programme. ".zip" files you have to expand manually and then double click the Setup.exe" file to install the programme.
Incidentally you must have administrator rights to install programmes, if you are a standard user, most likely, then you must either run the programmes as administrator (right click on the file and click "Run as Administrator" in the menu that comes up) or log off and log on as an Administrator with appropriate password.
Hope this is helpful, if so would you please register that with Fixya

Adobe keeps restarting programme

Uninstall in by going to add/remove programs and reinstall - I believe you have an old version that is not compatible with the current version of your OS - this could be caused if the computer isn't hooked up to the internet during automatic updates - Adobe also might have updates - all your updates may be getting blocked by your anti-virus program as well.

Acer 5738Z internet connection

You should get Revo uninstaller. It's free and through. Check on that McAfee and I'm not sure about Zone Alarm, but Ihear two AV programs will conflict with each other. Good luck.

Wireless switch is amber

Your computer is not detecting the wireless network, that's all. Leave it in an enabled state (even thought it's amber), and try a shutdown and restart.
If not, force it to search for wireless networks. It should detect.
By logging off the internet, what do you mean? Shutting your browser, disabling the wireless device under network connections, switching off the radio on the switch on your computer, or something else?
