Balance digital technology laptop model 557s internet nightmare

Your not telling us enough! How and what are you trying to access the internet with? Are you still using Dialup? DSL? Cable? A wireless router connected to a DSL modem? What type of Driver is this dealer talking about.
I had a problem recently that stomped me and it had to do with trying to wirelessly connect through a router connected to a DSL modem. The router was not set up with a security lock and no matter what I just could not get access...all the mac's had no problem and my desktop was directly connected. Guess What? I didn't know that the wireless modem had a MAC address on it so when I was setting up the router there was a page for MAC addresses that I setup to allow only the MAC's on with it. Well I entered the MAC address from the wireless modem and it connected right away....no other type of driver needed! So this is what I mean by needing more information...can't really help without it!
