Hi Thomas...
I just fixed the same exact system today witch i bought at a local thrift store. I did nt know if it worked or not but I am a tier 3 tech for largest call centers trained in computers Tvs and wirless etc. So i like to find these sort of things and see what makes them tick..
The one i got today was a SUMMER SJ126104 exactly like the one U have but only 2 channels not 3.
First question for u is does the camera or monitor have any lights come on showing it is getting power? The camera has a green light above the lens and monitor has green and red lights below in blue area. I found that the camera did power up but the monitor didnt show any lights or make sound or responded. I did a quick check and found that the monitor power cord had juice but no response. Now I dont recommend doing this yourself because unless ur trained and know what and how to protect yourself and other possible dangers from shock or causing fire hazzards that could put you and your precious little one at RISK..
This info is for just that INFO not repairs..OK? I opened up the monitor on my grounded protected tech bench and checked out first is it getting power on to the MB power grid from power pin..YES it was..next I checked and found a 5volt glass in breaker and with a mag glass and circut checker it had blown out ..and could see the wire broken inside so no power reached the board. Now this is the reason i dont want u to do this yourself..if that circet had been tripped and blown it did so since its job was to portect the rest of the board from being damaged or fire. thats what there there for. so dont try to replace it since something went wrong that caused this to short out.
So i want you to think about is this worth taking in and having it chked and if so fixed..or better to be safe and figure on getting another one because of the fact u dont want to let a few dollars buying new one over taking a chance that this one is unsafe..
Ill follow this and if u have any questions or better a solutions comes about please post for me..
GOODLUCK
Chadman

I would take it to a tv technician for service, I find them very adaptable when It comes to repairs of most makes and models.

You may have accidently clicked the "Options" buttons and selected a different camera (you can have up to 4). Click the middle button on the remote (it looks like a cherry) and hit the left/right keys to get back to Camera 1. Also, if you lose the signal for any reason (like if you go out of range or stand next to a running microwave), you sometimes have to turn the device off and then turn it back on again to get the signal back. I don't care though -- for all its flaws, I still heart this thing.
SOURCE: How do I add an extra camera to this monitor?
I had the same problem, but just figured it out! The Instructions that come with the camera are wrong (obviously).
So instead of holding down just the "video on/off" button for 2 seconds...Hold down the power button AND the "video on/off button together for 2 seconds.
Then the power led will flash amber and you can hit the code button on the camera and it will work!
