Meat probe buzzer starting buzzing for no reason. we do not have a meat probe with this model, and the oven was not on at the time...the buzzer for the meat probe went off all by itself. please advise how to reset so it will stop buzzing. we turned off the breaker to the oven and then tried to turn on "bake"....bake will only stay on until meat probe temperature is reached and then it automatically shuts off. thank you so much, cell phone is 509-290-0327...we're planning a birthday turkey to bake tomorrow and now can't get oven to bake, while bird is in sink unthawed!!!!

Re: meat probe button on control pad

There is no real way to reset it you reset it when you turned the breaker off, It sounds like the EOC (electronic oven control) is faulty. I would just keep reset it and keep doing that to bake the turkey how hot will it get before it buzzes? is it showing any error codes?? F1, F2, F3 etc.....

I need to know how much it would cost to purchase an Oven Control for my Whirlpool Kitchen Range, Model# GS563LXSS, SN RU0127557 During hurrican Ike their was a power surge when our electricity came back...

Most controlboards can't handel a power surge more than 125V and is a reasonable expanation.

Your model number is missing a number at the end and if your model # is GS563LXSS0 or GS563LXSS1 then the Main Control part # is a W10116542

Jenn-Air SCE 30600, oven error codes F1 and Probe

An F-1 error code on your model means the element was energized when it should not have been, A shorted interconnect harness or failed power relay board.

A probe indication could be a failed meat probe jack or bad harness in a unit that has one. In a unit without a meat probe, suspect a bad board.

Both conditions would warrant bringing in a tech.

Before you do, turn off the circuit breaker fot 3 miutes and turn it back on. This will reboot the boards. If problem persists, the call a service tech.

Jenn Air W256B error code F8

Hi, F8 on later model jenn-air ranges/wall ovens indicates an issue with the meat probe, usually the resepticle. The fault is sensing a temp. at the probe above 250. Unless you actually have the meat probe inserted into the recepticle and the oven has heated above 250, then it's not likely the meat probe itself. Hence why the recepticle is likely faulty or in need of inspection/adjustment. Here's how (this may or may not work...sometimes it does though). First unplug the range or shut off the power to it. **The probe is attached on the oven liner via a nut, however you,ll need to gain access to the outer side of the liner by removing the side panel if the recepticle needs to be replaced, but hold on.** You nay only have to loosen the nut and re-tighten it to insure the recepticle has a good "ground" to chassis. there is only one wire attached to the other side (you can't see it) because the probe converts temperature to resistance in the control, that is why this "ground" is essential and can cause "faults" if not secure/sufficient. At times that's all it takes to force an F8 code. Try this first, reset the power and see if it yields a successful remedy. Hope that helps, good luck Hope that helps, good luck

Meat Probe doesn't work

The F3 E2 error code indicates that the electronic oven control board in the range senses an over-temperature condition in the oven.

This can be caused by a failed temperature sensor probe, a wiring problem between the sensor and the control board, or a failed electronic oven control board.
If the oven is apparently not overheating when this error code appears, then your likely failure is the temperature sensor probe.
If the oven is overheating, then you likely have a failed electronic oven control board due to a stuck relay not cycling the oven heating element off properly.

For replacement parts - head on over to or and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

F9 Code after power outage - Model JGR8855ADS

Try unplugging the oven from the electrical power. May release the lock, which is held in place by a tiny micro switch. If not and while the electric is still off or the oven is unplugged, use a bright light flashlight to look through the slot where the lock is in the oven, not in the door.

You may be able to use a thin blade screwdriver to move the lock to the release position. Check the angle of the lever. A slightly bent lever handle also can cause this type of condition.

If all else fails, remove the access panel on the front of the oven to access the locking device and release it. May have to disconnect the wires to the lock which will allow door to function but not during any self cleaning modes.
