How to best connect this DVD recorder to a Sky plus box

If your Sky Plus box is not allowing you to record one channel while watching another and is displaying a "no signal" error, there could be a few potential causes for this issue:

Insufficient signal strength: Make sure that your Sky Plus box is connected to the satellite dish correctly and that the dish is pointing in the correct direction. Weak signal strength can prevent the box from tuning in to channels properly.

Faulty Satellite Cable
There are all sorts of things that can cause a cable to become faulty like age, condition, and whether it's damaged and weathering/ water ingress. To fix- A new coaxial cable or two new coaxial cables may need to be installed for Sky+ boxes and Sky Q boxes.

Plug your recorder into the SCART connection labelled VCR and plug that into a SCART connector on your recorder.
To record from the Sky box, change the input channel to the SCART connector that the Sky box is plugged into and record away!

Connect the sky to the tv using a scart from the one marked tv on the sky box.Connect a scart from the one marked vcr on the sky box to av2 on the dvd.You then select av2 as your record channel on the dvd.

Your going to need a AV connection out of the DVR into the DVD or VCR, whichever you want to record to. Go with the highest quality cable you can because that will define the quality you end up with. If you have an HDMI connection out of the DVR and an HDMI connection into your DVD Recorder, that is definitally the way to go.

If you connect the output that normally goes to tv to the input on the recorder, output from recorder to input on tv, you should be able to record.

I would use the Sky box manuals recommendations for connection as this usually gives the best performance especially if you wish to record from Sky to the DVD recorder.

You need to connect up the Sky+ to your recorder via scart. This will eliminate poor picture quality. The Sky box will be on ext1 on your recorder or something like that

Connect the AV output of the Sky box to the AV input of the Panasonic combo.Look at rear of the Combo and you will observe input and output RCA connections.Using RCA leads, hookup the Av output of the Panasonic to the audio/video input of the Sony tv. Power up Appliances, and you should be OK.
