Printer does not print

When you want to print eg. 5 lables and you press print . The printer start feeding for about twenty lables and stop. only fisrt lable is maybe printed on. Then the two green lights keeps on flashing . If you then press the feed button it does the same as the print option. If stop the two lights flash again. When printer is not linked to computer but only by power supply it still do the same when you press the feed button.

Hold down the feed button until both light flash off and let go. This will reset the printer. This should stop it from feeding multiple labels.

if OK then perform media calibration:

Enter menu and scroll to ADVANCED

press enter and use password 9999

scroll to MEDIA and RIBBON CALIBRATE

Remove a few labels and remove ribbon

Press right arrow to continue display CALIBRATING PLEASE WAIT.

When complete reload ribbon and labels press right arrow printer will feed approx 39"

Prints lable every 5 labels the rest are blank

Troubleshoot to see if the problem is with the printer or the software. Turn the printer off and back on again for fresh start. After the POST (power on self test) press the FEED key and see if the printer feeds just 1 label. If it does then you know the optic sensor in the printer has a good read on label size. If it feeds more than one, then it needs to be recalibrated for label size.

If it feeds 1 label, then print a format. Now if it prints 1 label and then feeds blank labels, you know the problem is in the label software you're using or in the printer driver. The printer will only do what it's told to do.

At least this way you can narrow the problem down to the printer or the software.

Hope that helps....

Press the cancel button 5 seconds while power on. This will give you a config. printout. Check the top position, and tear off position for settings of 0. If it is anything else change it and save .

Using a eltron tlp2742. The printer spits out about twenty lables then prints one halway in the middle of a tag then stops. I have chaecked all paper, ribbon, connections and settings on printer I can...

It sounds like you should recalibrate the printer, to do this press and hold the button and turn the printer on. When the light flashes Red let go and the printer will calibrate and do a printout at the end

Zebra LP 2844 Prints 30 pages of junk instead of a Dazzle mailing

Turn off the printer and place your finger on the green feed button. With the button depressed, turn the printer back on. Let the light flash2.gif (ONLY!) four times and release the button. Printer will cycle through 2-3 labels. Press the feed button one more time.
You've just set the printer back to factory default.

Will not print on all four lables, and does not print in the same place each time.

for starters you need to calibrate your printer.

Note: If printing in Direct Thermal Mode, default the printer first (4 flashes).

1. Load the labels and ribbon (if used) and close the printer
2. Turn on the printer power.
3. Allow the printer to feed or error out.
4. Press and hold the feed button until the green status LED flashes once, then twice. Release the feed button.
6. The printer will set the media sensor for the label backing being used and then automatically feed until a label is positioned at the printhead.
7. A profile of the media sensor settings (similar to the example in Figure 1) will print. Upon completion, the printer will save the new settings in memory and the printer is ready for normal operation.
8. Press the feed button. One entire blank label will feed. If this does not happen, try defaulting (Hold the FEED button until it flashes 4 times)

Label not advancing to tear-off perforation

Try this to have the printer auto-sense the size of the labels:
1. Make sure that printer power is off.
2. Press and hold the feed button.
3. Turn printer power on.
4. When the status light blinks, release
the feed button.
5. The printer advances the media to
measure and verify the length of
individual labels or tags. The printer
then prints a status summary and
remains in diagnostic dump mode.
6. To begin normal operation, tap the
feed button. The printer prints "out of
DUMP" and advances a label.

Keep Holding Feed Button until test label is complete and light has gone red
Switch Printer off

Reset your Print Server

This should start it printing (unless there are jobs inthe print queue, if there are then they will need to be deleted before printing will commence)

Set up

May be your problems can be solved doing a calibration. To do this, turn off the printer, press the feed key and turn on the printer. When the led flashes in red quickly release the feed key, the printer will start to calibrate and after the calibration will feed one label.

It is explained in the user manual.
