Tv set won't start up

Power suply only gives 40 vdc at main output then shuts off, I try changing power reg. STRS6656, no change, I checked all resistors and capacitors on the power supply area and all seems to be ok, I disconnect all output diodes, letting only the main output and still giving 40 vdc for a second and then shuts down, I got tired trying to find some thing wrong, does anybody may had have the same problem? any help wold be very apreciated.

As your reg. output is 40v & you have checked every possible things responsible for it. my suggetion is that first you isolate power supply from hor.section & see if power supply output is ok. if it is ok then check for short & leakage in h/output like 1 hor.output tr. 2 diode or cap in eht winding. 3 check for print near eht transformer. 4 disconnect yoke connector & check . 5 & finally eht or flyback transformer.

Need wiring diagram, from alternator to plug-ins for briggs & Stratton (3500) Elite series Model # 030208-0

No wiring diagram available from Briggs. Try re-magnetizing the rotor. No AVR or Capacitor listed in the parts list.

Disconnect the wires to brushes ( pay attention to the order) and apply 12vdc to brushes. Positive goes to brush closest to the bearing. Start the generator and check for output. If output is normal run the unit a few minutes to ensure re-magnetization then shut down normally. After shut down disconnect the 12 vdc source and re-install the previous disconnected wires. Now re start the generator and test for output should be okay provide there is no problems with the alternator. If no output during the above re-magnetization then your rotor windings my burned out.

How to check power suply?

Good day!!!!

If you need to know if your problem is on the power supply board..

This is the steps on how to determine..

  1. Open the back cover.
  2. Power supply of LCD should have 5vdc for the main board,12vdc or 16vdc for the audio and 24vdc for the inverter board..
  3. Place your multimeter (range in DC) to Ground for black test probe and red for the 5vdc,12vdc/16vdc and 24vdc.
  4. if your power supply don't have output voltage you power supply is defective.
  5. Please check if you have shorted diode,transistors..Open/change value resistors and also look for any bulged on the top capacitors..If you found any please replace it only with the same type, ratings and value.
I hope this solution will be helpful..

Thanks for using fixya...

firstly, check if there is a resistor that blocks the power,if not there is capacitor that is associated with the circuit that is bad, check very well.

Amp powers up but just hums

The output transistors are probably shorted. There should not be any DC voltage going to the speakers. DO NOT run it this way for long or you will damage the voice coils of the speakers. This unit needs service. Expect a parts cost in the $25-$40 range.

Acer AL1715 going on and off (LED blinking)

Hi maxwell,

Firstly check for the surrounding components like th coupling resistors for a short. Change them, then look for leaky diodes (a diode shows low resistance when connected to a multimeter with correct polarity and MUST show infinite i.e. NO resistance at all when polarity of the meter testprods are reversed) As for the deformed capacitor change it with similar type, voltage and size.
VERY IMPORTANT: Make sure you put in the new one back in the same polarity (since it is an electrolytic type capacitor from what you mentioned in your querry) elase the new one will explode if the polarity is wrong.

Better still, if you are not good at soldering components that are so closely attached on the circuit board, just give it to an authorised service center in your area.

AL178 17in. Flat Panel Problem: Screen goes black after about a second

hi,
I had the same problem before. I open my set to find out the faulty component are at power supply main board.
I change the electrlytic capacitor 680microfarad and a resistor burnt near the FET.
You can visual check first.Color changes and bulky form on cap and burnt resistor easily.
Have a try.

Good Day, y'all;

Try these:

CHECK CONNECTOR "DR" FOR PROPER CONNECTION, BETWEEN THE DEFL MINI PCB AND THE MAIN PCB. 2. CHECK C5A09 AND C5A50 BOTH 33 UFD 50 V OFF OF IC5A01 ON PCB-DEFL MINI. 3. CHECK FOR LEAKY IC5A03 PART # 270P704010 ON PCB-DEFL MINI 4. SUSPECT THE HIGH VOLTAGE BLOCK PART # 920P016010.
NO POWER. RELAY CLICKS 1. CHECK Q501 (261P071010), Q502 (260P561020) AND Q503 (260P788010). IF ANY OF THESE TRANSISTORS ARE SHORTED OR LEAKY REPLACE IT INSURE THE FOLLOWING CIRCUIT CHANGE HAS BEEN DONE. REMOVE J58 FROM THE PCB-MAIN. USING AN INSULATED JUMPER WIRE, SOLDER A 22 OHM 1/4W RESISTOR BETWEEN PIN 4 OF THE RELAY K9A30 AND THE J58 HOLE NEXT TO PIN 1 OF CONNECTOR DQ. DRESS AND INSULATE THE JUMPER AND RESISTOR TO PROTECT AGAINST SHORT CIRCUITS. INSTALL A .01 UF 50V CERAMIC CAPACITOR BETWEEN THE COLLECTOR OF Q510 AND THE GROUND LEAD OF R502. NO POWER. NO RELAY CLICK 1. CHECK FOR 5 VDC AT PIN 9 OF IC700 (AC-OFF) IF MISSING CHECK PC901 PART # 268P058020, ON THE POWER PCB. Good Luck, big IRISH. back.gif back.gif
