Please find the vista driver for this printer at this link. Follow the instructions to install properly.

Hopefully this file will also have driver for scanner.

If you do not have the disk you must download the software from Internet, follow instructions below,

Click here:Official Lexmark Drivers and Software

A web page will open, follow instructions, select model, select operative system etc., and click on download .
Chose to download the file in my documents when asked.
After downloading, find the file,double click on the file ,then if you get in troubles, follow the instructions below to reset and reinstall drivers:

• Unplug printer USB.
• Go to control panel >> installed printers in Windows and remove (delete ) any installed printer from printer list.
• Download driver from website, or use the disk and run the install file.
  
• Follow driver installation wizard.
• Plug back printer when prompted from installation wizard.

Note:some printerdoes not work on Vista, if you do not find any driver download for Vista on your model page, that means your model is not Vista compatible.

You stated that you just got a new computer and are trying to hook up your old printer to it. Here is the Lexmark website to download new drivers for the VISTA? operating system driver for your printer. Use the control panel printer install along with the new downloaded driver.Whee asked where the driver is, just let it know where you placed it. I would first uninstall the printer .

In printers and faxes please check:

1. Right click the icon and left click the properties and in the properties check the port whether it is usb or not. If not click on the usb virtual printer port and then click apply and ok. and then print.

In device manager check whether there is a usb printing support or not . If it is not there then connect the priniter directly to the wall outlet and unplug & replug the usb cable from the back of the computer. Found new h/w will come up to update the drivers.. follow the wizard. An thne once finished , print the teat page.

You might try downloading the Vista driver for your printer onto all of the computers on the network that have Vista...
